Saw both the movies and though neither are really great, and not the kind to really grip you( i would prefer Sanam Teri Kasam over both these movies), they offer two different approaches to love, which I thought worth discussing. Fitoor, an adaptation of Great Expectation, has the quintessential happy ending, and proffers the age-old theory that no matter how difficult the circumstances, one should choose the rot of togetherness over the misery of separation.
Saanm Re has another dimension of love - it says sacrifice is the most important part of love, even more than togetherness. it says you should choose the other person's happiness over your own, even if it means separation.
Which approach do you believe in?
