Ash Ditches!!
Aishwarya Rai, the sizzling hot beauty queen of bollywood, has refused to share screen space with Bipasha Basu in the upcoming international project on ' Taj Mahal' being made by Sir Ben Kingsley. Bipasha Basu is playing the character of Jahan Ara, the daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan while Aishwarya Rai is essaying the character of Queen Mumtaz Mahal, Shah Jahan's wife. Ash has told clearly the filmmaker that she considered Bipasha to be her contemporary and would not be able to share the screen space as mother and daughter.
As a source close to the filmmaker says, ' Sir Ben Kingsley discussed the story of the film with Aishwarya on the sets of The Last Legion. Ash was thrilled and made a verbal promise to do the film. But after the stories about her playing Bipasha's mother came out, she was not too happy.
She sees Basu as her contemporary and did not want to be seen in the 'senior' bracket. So Ash had a word with Kingsley and voiced her dissent. She explained to him that while she did not mind playing Bips' mother, she would not share any screen time with her as the age difference between them would be evident.'
Now, the only way out left for the filmmaker is to use the strategy of presenting one actress at a time on the screen as was earlier done by Preity Zinta in ' Krrish', where she was the mother of Hrithik Roshan but actually never came together on screen. Using this technique, both the actresses can remain in the project without sharing the screen space with each other.
But for this to happen, Ben Kingsley will have to make substantial changes in the script and will need considerable time for that.
Hmm……hmm……seems gorgeous Ash has started getting jitters and do not want people to compare her with sizzling hot, sexy siren of 'bidi jalai le' fame Bipasha Basu, what say??
