Ek Haseena thi(Star Plus) had a brilliant cast of Sanjeeda Sheikh, Vatsal Shet, Simone Sigh, Ayub Khan, Tina Dutta etc. and I was a big fan of that serial. Now, Yeh Vaada Raha, for some unknown reason, always reminds me of EHT.
The characters of the two serials have similarity among them. The words in bold show that the situations are different. The words before the slash (/) show the situation of EHT and after the slash show that of YVR.

Durga (Nitya)= Survi
Both the leads of the show were leading a normal life unless trouble named Shaurya/Bhau entered their life. To give justice to her sister/protect her family, the girls chose to change themselves from sweet abla naaris to the strong roop of Durga Maa.
Dev= Kartik
Both the male leads were not ready to accept their marriage, to quite surprisingly, happened cause their brothers chose to leave their to-be-bride alone on the altar, reasons being Love for his friend/Guilt of hurting his brother. But when they chose their marriage to give another chance, their wives didn't give them and their relation a chance, twisting their love story more.
Sakshi=Tai
Women who can give life or take life for her Son/Husband. They never accepted the female leads and faked love for the male leads. Money and Power is everything for them.
Kangana= Aniket
Always fooled and blinded by their parents, never tried to see the reality. But when they did, they chose to support the right.
Rajnath=Pyaare
Greedy is what we can call these two. Money, power and pleasures are what they seek. Though dominated by Tai/Sakshi, they had their own plans to outwit the women, but failed.
Raima=Bindu
They cheat their best friend/sister with their husbands. Greedy and selfish, can hurt anyone for their profits.
Suchitra=Lata
Though they doesn't have much say in the house, their decision are valued by their sons and their sons can go to any extent to fulfill their mother's wish.
Akram (Akaash)=Raghu
Trustworthy, honest and righteous, they never supported the wrong. Forced to obey the wrong.
Divya=Kishore
They are assumed dead and act like ghost to scare their murderers and make them confess the truth.
Payal=Shaanti
Affected mentally by the crimes that had happened with her/her family, they turned mentally unstable, but after the leap, the two recovered. Only difference here was that Payal recovered after 2 years, while Shanti recovered during the eight years.
Even the Goenka Mansion and Barve House, is the same...
