Cant agree to her point.. However, I do feel if the big male superstars play second fiddle to the female character in women-centric movies, then the collection would also be good, and it would help producers to encourage more movies as such..

Anyways, females in BW at present are doing good.. Slowly but gradually the revolution will come ! 🥳

I think that's what she was trying to say too except she wasn't very eloquent about it. The problem with this is that lets say SRK played the husband in English Vinglish no one would call it a Sridevi movie. All the credit for its success would go to SRK as unfair or inaccurate as that would have been. So for the long term success of women centric films its better to have a hit without a huge male star than to have a blockbuster with a male star.

I did however agree with her about the pressure of 100 cr movie and how some of that high budget is due to actors' high fees.

Exactly. SRK did that in the 90s by supporting Sridevi in Army and then in Karishma in Sridevi's production. Both films flopped proving that the presence of a leading actor can do so much in making a film a hit.

I disagree with her. Superstar males does not need to play supporting roles. I also think superstar actresses does not to do flower roles to support males.
Actresses needs to sign films like Kahaani, Piku, Queen and other women oriented movies to back themselves up for a good project. They need to do more films that focuses on them and they'll shine more. They need to do films with unknown actors as well to establish themselves as a powerhouse.

I personally waiting for another movie like Ek hasina thi. Strong powerful women power

That's a good point. That's why I think actresses needs to do films with unknown actors so when the film becomes a hit, then it'll be their film and not the lead actor. Just like Kahaani, it was only vidya that was a known face so the credit went to her only. So actresses needs to do that more often to prove a point. But when they act with a known actor than the credit goes to that actor

There is no need for male superstars playing 2nd fiddle. There are very good character artistes who can very well do the job and take less money. Why would every film need superstars in the first place (male or female) ?
