From the time a child is born its parents and family are its world . As they grow they begin to build a moral core absorbing and observing the environment . Teachers and friends enrich their formative years further enhancing and solidifying their character . Its this upbringing that stays by ones side to guide in every walk of life. whatever the circumstance these values remain in the forefront and family a safe haven come what may.
Such is the case for Viplav. A beloved son & grandson of a well respected family he has lived a pampered life. Loves his family and is loved in return . Is respectful and forward thinking demonstrated several times by his being in the ashram assisting the widows or protecting Dhani's honor on many occasions. Its his core values that leads his head and heart to do the right thing.
Looking for closure on the death of his dad Vip is frustrated by the fact that he is unable to nail TRip for his misdeeds . That nagging feeling in the gut and in the mind that the culprit is out free seems to have engulfed him. To complicate it further Trip has implanted a doubt that has consumed him . Maybe its someone in the family who is the mastermind or maybe Dhani is an accomplice or maybe its a figmention of his own imagination. Who to trust and what to believe.
It makes him do the unpardonable , sneaking up on his mother unexpectedly or rummaging her trunk or tracking his granddads phone when it strikes him that he is suspecting the very people who have made him who he is . how can it be possible that his dadaji a respectable Maha pandit have a hand at killing his own son or his mother killing her husband . It cannot be. He is ashamed for his actions and for the man that he is confesses of his folly to them all. "It seems i have gone mad and i don't deserve the love that I get form my family or you Dhani . if there is a punishment for this please give it ".. the tormented soul searching to exorcise this evil thought .
There is no worse a sight than that of a dispirited soul. Viplav's state of mind distressed me . He is being played by all - his granddad the seemingly most supportive ally yet master of all tricks, His mother who bad mouths Dhani and is power hungry hiding under tears and a white saree and Trip the faithful pet gone wild. entrapped in their mind games he is week and ravaged.
As you say it was all Viplav today his madness his struggle - so palpable. unaware of what the future withholds Will his Character withstand the upcoming test ? Only time will tell.
I thought Mishal did a fantastic job of making me worry about Viplav. There were several other sequences that were notable but i will go thru them another time.
Yeah Suv comes to mind ...to me she symbolizes those women in the world who knowing turn a blind eye towards the wrong that husbands and men do . Beating of a wife or abuse they justify their deeds by - oh this is just the once he did not mean it or he will not do it again or he did not do it all all . and for the o ny reason to give their own lives respectability . very saddened to see such weak and ignorant women . Anyways .
Thanks again Hammie for your post ..talk to you soon.
