Salman Khan - Highest tax payer from BW

Salman Khan had a splendid 2015, career wise.

According to a DNA report, the superstar has paid Rs 20 crore as advance tax, beating Akshay Kumar, who paid Rs 16 Crore in advance taxes.

Released by Mumbai's IT department, the figures are only from the three quarters of this fiscal year and the last one ends in March. Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan paid Rs 15 crore, Rs 14 crore and Rs 8.5 crore, respectively, stated an India Today report.

Salman had to emerge successful considering he has had two blockbusters - "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" - to his credit in 2015. Both the films feature in the highest grossers' list.

Interestingly, Akshay Kumar's recent release "Airlift" has been doing well at the box office and its performance may have a positive impact on his tax payments.

Salman Khan is currently undergoing rigorous training sessions for his upcoming film "Sultan" in which he plays a 40-year-old boxer. Slated for an Eid release, the film also features Anushka Sharma and Randeep Hooda in key roles. The crew will soon travel to Punjab to shoot a few romantic scenes between the lead actors.
