This is my first and will probably be my only attempt to write an ff/ss. I am South-African and not very familiar with India but I love PV. I have tried not to refer to customs and rituals too much, lest I offend any one. I will post Part 1 & 2 and will wait for responses before I continue.
First Impressions

Part 1

He hated this!!! He hated this to his very core!!! All his plans have gone down the drain because of his spoilt, irresponsible, idiot twin brother, Prashant. Now he is babysitting her. All the years of training and planning has led to this. Being a bodyguard to this spoilt rich brat was not his idea of fun, but it was the by far the highest offer he received. And he needed the money to pay off the balance of the debts that his brother incurred while running his father's lucrative business into the ground. He would have left them to their own devices but they knew exactly how to use his weakness against him. His baby sister, Palak.

These were the thoughts of Yash Scindiya, the now bodyguard and ex-special forces agent. Since birth he learnt to take care of himself. His brother, was born first but something had gone wrong with the delivery causing Akash to be sickly for most of their childhood their mother Gaytri had been so concerned for her first born and his health that she had barely any time to spare for her second son or the daughter she gave birth to 10 years later. If it had not been for his aunt Maya, he would not have known any love at all. His father was a hard man and had no time for raising of children and showing affection to his family. That was his wife's job. It was unlikely that he was even aware of the favouritism that manifested itself in his home. To vent his frustrations and also to get a little attention from his parents Yash started participating in combat sports at an early age. He excelled at this and had won various competitions. The only one that ever came to watch and encouraged him was his aunt. At one of these events when he was 18 years old he was approached by a recruit from the Indian Special Forces. Apparently they had been following his progress in the sport and personal life and felt he was the perfect candidate for this job. Yash accepted as he wanted to be independent from his family. He only regretted leaving the 8 year old Palak and his aunt Maya. His only consolation was that he knew that his aunt loved Palak as much as he did and would take care of her as her own. Because of his determination to succeed he moved quickly through the ranks till he was eventually promoted to colonel. Just as he was about to retire from the military after 10 years of service, his father , Suraj, passed away of a massive heart attack and in no time his eldest son and heir squandered all the family money and caused the ruin of their family business. He has incurred so much debt that Yash has to use the money the he received from the military as well as his hard earned savings to pay off most of the debt. His plans to establish his own private security company came to a crashing halt. He was approached by one of his ex-colleagues that dealt in the recruitment of body guards of the rich and famous. He immediately received many offers, of which he chose the highest one. His only interest was to make sure that the 18 year old Palak and aunty Maya was taken care of, however as they lived in the family home with his mother and Prashant, he was unwillingly supporting them too. Hence his current situation, protecting the only daughter of the richest property magnet in India, Satyendra Dubey. So far this has been the longest month of his life.

Part 2

She hated this!!! O how she hated this!!! Not for one single moment was she alone. She was sick of people following her around. When she goes to college, when she goes shopping, when she goes out with her friends, everywhere and every minute of every day they were there. Once, just once she would like to be free to do as she pleases without anyone following her. Yes, she knew that her father was very wealthy and there has been an attempt to kidnap her when she was a child but she couldn't remember it. She only knows that ever since she can remember there was somebody following her. She felt trapped and couldn't help resenting the situation. And what possessed her father to hire this new guy. He never speaks but to bark orders at her and his face will probably crack if he ever smiles. She was annoyed at the thought of it all that she got into the car banged the door shut without greeting the bodyguards. If he can be grumpy so can I!

These were the thoughts of Aarti Dubey, socialite and fashion icon. She was in her last year of college and was studying fashion and design as well as business management. She was very bright and extremely creative, so she excelled at her course. She was very popular with everybody because although she came from a wealthy family, she had a heart of gold and was equally nice to everyone. (Except him). These endearing qualities she inherited from her loving parents. Her father was a philanthropist of note and they were not afraid to get their hands dirty and to go and help out at orphanages, old age homes and wherever needed.

Her dream was to become a fashion designer/stylist. She loved to shop and loved to hang out with her friends too. She spent many hours at various malls with her best friend Mansi. She could drive herself but she was not allowed to. This was the only thing her parents did not give in to her on. Usually they trusted her and gave her way on everything. But she knew they trusted her completely and she did not want to break their trust.

The car stopped and she jumped out of the car before he could open the door for her and ran towards where Mansi was waiting for her. She heard the driver side door open but chose to ignore him as usual. Good morning M said Aarti. "Good morning Ace", said Mansi. "I see you have the hunk again this morning. What I wouldn't give to be you right now Mansi said and pretended to swoon." "Oh please, M, are talking about grumpy smurf. He is the worst one that my dad has ever hired. He is so full of himself. He keeps ordering me around. Does he know who I am?" said Aarti indignantly. Aah, what a long month!

Thanks so much for the encouragement every one. so here goes Part 3.

Part 3

As if on que she heard, "Miss Dubey, please move to your class now. It is not safe here and besides it's already time for class to start or do you expect the class to wait for you?" Aarti fumed, "No that's your job" she retorted and stormed off. How dare he speak to her like that? She will definitely have to have a word with daddy about him. He followed her to class and thought Typical, she expects the whole world to come to a standstill for her. She has no consideration for other people. Focus Yash, focus. You have a goal and a purpose. This is why you are doing this job. With what her father is paying you, the debts will be squared up and you will have saved up to start your business in no time. He took a seat at the back of the class and waited for this day to end.

After college, Yash dropped Mansi and Aarti at their favourite caf for milkshakes. Aarti deliberately sitting with her back to Yash. Mansi was ogling him and said:" Come on Ace, you can't tell me you didn't notice how yummy your new bodyguard is. I can eat him up right now." "Stop drooling, M. I thought you were in love with

Prateek" "Just because I am in love, does not mean that I am blind. He is gorgeous. He has missed his calling in this job. He should be an actor or model" "That's your opinion", said Aarti and then they started talking about what they were going to wear to Sunita's party on Friday night.

Yash was sitting sipping some ice coffee while waiting for the madam when his phone rang. "Hi Amaan he said." Amaan was the one friend he made while in the military. Amaan had left the military earlier than him and is now a very high ranking police official. He was one of the most trustworthy people that Yash knew. "I hear you are babysitting Miss Bhopal" laughed Amaan. "Was Special Forces not dangerous enough for you? I hear these socialites can be quite a challenge" "You have no idea" said Yash, "but you know my situation so I have to endure this for a while." "I saw some pictures of her in the media. Is she as gorgeous in real life as she is in her pics. If she is, can we change jobs?" said Amaan. They both laughed. They caught up for a bit till Yash excused himself as the princess was on the move. Probably to one mall or another.

Aarti was looking forward to Sunita's party. She hasn't been to a party in a while because of exams. The theme was Grecian and she wore a flowing cream coloured Grecian style dress with gold trim that she has created herself. Her hair was in loose curls with a gold floral wreath on her head. The wisps of her hair framed her face and she looked the embodiment of a Greek goddess. She was not wearing any shoes but simply wore bracelets on her feet. She was excited about this because this meant she could dance to her hearts content without having sore feet from stilettos.

Yash had just completed changing the flat tyre that he had discovered. He had removed his white shirt to avoid getting grease stains on it. He was reaching for his shirt, when he heard the sound of the payal. As he lifted his head, he saw a vision floating towards him. It was a couple of moments before her realised it was her. She was absolutely enchanting. How did he miss this? She had her head down looking at something on her dress and when she looked up his breath caught. It was as if he saw her for the first time. She was...

He couldn't even conjure up any words for this beauty that was coming towards him.

As Aarti lifted her head she saw him. Was it him? She came to a halt. Gone was the usual white shirt and jacket. He was wearing a vest with his muscular upper body clearly visible and his hair was a mess, a glorious mess. She had the urge to run her hands through his hair. They both stood mesmerised by the other, when Mansi, who also got dressed at Aarti's house came running and shouted, "Hey Ace, were you planning on leaving without me? Wow Mr, Bodyguard, she drooled, when she saw Yash. Both Aarti and Yash came to their senses and Yash quickly put his shirt and jacket back on as the girls got into the car. "Quit your constant drooling M, said Aarti irritated. What was this feeling? Was she feeling jealous of her best friend and that too for this brute? This gorgeous brute her mind wandered off. Get a hold of yourself Aarti. You don't like him remember.

Yash started the car and drove the girls to the party but he couldn't help himself from sneaking glances at her in the rear view mirror from time to time. And a few times he caught her watching him. This confused both of them.

Part 4

Is it necessary for her to dance with every guy in this place, Yash thought as he stood watching Aarti dancing with various partners at the party? There was a couple of times that he has to restrain himself as he wanted to drag her out of there as he felt the guys were getting too close. But he realised in time that he was being irrational and he was struggling to make sense of these feelings that he was having. Suddenly he felt uneasy. Something wasn't right. Aarti was moving from the dance floor and there were two men approaching her that looked suspicious. The one was right next to her and caught her as she fainted. They were heading towards the door with her. None of the other party goers noticed. They probably thought she was drunk and Mansi was making out with her boyfriend somewhere or other.

Fear gripped his heart as her realised that this was a kidnapping attempt. However, his reflexes took over and he ran through the party crowd, whilst calling for his back up that was outside. When he reached outside the one kidnapper was waiting for him and fired a shot at him. Due to his training he managed to avoid being hit and he fired a fatal shot at the kidnapper. As he ran towards the man carrying Aarti he noticed one of his back up team members lying on the ground with the bullet in the head but he didn't stop. He got to the car almost the same time as the kidnapper. His first instinct was to shoot at the driver to prevent the car from moving and as glass shattered he realised the driver is one of their own. He opened the door and yanked him out of the car. There was a scuffle and Yash shot him but he was still alive and he then went for the man who was holding Aarti still in the backseat of the getaway car. He had a gun pointed at her head. Let me go or I will shoot her the guy demanded. Yash shouted, who are you working for! The goon was about to pull the trigger and Yash shot him in the head and his body went limp. Yash quickly checked Aart's to see if she ok and relief washed over him. He wanted to take her in his arms but he had to make sure they were out of danger. He scanned the area for any further threats and went back to Ranjeet, the team member turned crook. He was barely alive. Again Yash demand, "Who are you working for." Ranjeet said, "I don't know. He called and threatened my family. They knew everything about their whereabouts. These are dangerous people. I did this for my family. Please Yash save my family. And don't take her back home. I don't know who it is but I know the danger is from someone close to her." And then he too died.

Luckily the music at the party was so loud that no one heard the commotion outside. Yash sprang into action. He grabbed Aarti from the backseat of the kidnapper's car and ran. He found a car in one of the side roads that he hot-wired and drove as close to his little apartment as possible and he walked with her in his arms the rest of the way. When he reached his apartment he put her down on his bed and cleaned the blood splatter off her, thinking that it was good that she was unconscious while the whole drama took place. He went to take a shower and slept because he knew the next day was going to be a big day.

He had been awake for hours preparing. He went to buy clothes and some provisions before she woke up. She woke up all groggy and confused as expected. When her eyes focused she saw him standing over her. He looked different. He was dressed casually.

"Good Morning Miss Dubey. Do you remember anything from last night?" When she looked confused he explained to her about the kidnapping attempt. He also told her that there is now a manhunt for him as it is assumed that he has kidnapped her. He also told her what Ranjeet said and she started panicking. "How do I know I can trust you? How do I know that you are not the real kidnapper?" "Miss Dubey, if I wanted to kidnap you I would have done so a month ago. You have 2 options. Trust me and do as I say or go home and put yourself and your family in harm's way. Choose and choose quickly because either way we do not have much time. "

She chose him. She went to have a shower and dressed in the simple saree that he had given her to wear. He prepared breakfast for them but she couldn't eat. "At this stage no one know where you are or whether you are alive or dead. For your safety I think it is best that way, so we can flush out the real kidnappers" he said.

He explained that he has a car that he stored in a garage close by and he will take her to a safe house. They will travel as a traditional middle class married couple. He gave her sindoor and a mangalsutra to wear so she would look like a traditional Indian wife. As handed the items to her, she could not take it as he hands were shaking uncontrollably. He was forced to put the sindoor on her head and put the mangalsutra around her neck. This action had an effect on both of them but they composed themselves quickly. Both still baffled by these new feelings on top of everything else that was happening.

Soon they were on their way to the safe house. It was about 2 hours drive out of Bhopal in a secluded farming area. The safe house belonged to Yash. He once passed it and liked the tranquillity it offered. And he came here as often as he could, especially after a hectic assignment where there was a lot of danger and death when he was in the Special Forces. He had a couple looking after the house that lived on the premises. He let them know beforehand that he was on his way. Before they reached the farmhouse Yash called Amaan. "What the hell Yash" exclaimed Amaan when he realised it was Yash on the phone. Yash explained everything to him and Amaan knew even before the explanation that he was innocent. He also asked Amaan to make sure that Ranjeet's family is safe. They had agreed to continue letting everyone think that he is the main suspect to flush out the guilty party. Okay Amaan, we will stay in contact to share information.

As they drove up to the farmhouse and Aarti immediately fell in love with it what she saw. She was obviously tensed by all that has happened and this place immediately had a calming effect on her. It was small compared to her house but wasn't everything. There were a few animals and some crops and a farm dam and even a swimming pool. The house was so quaint and clearly it has been renovated as it had all the modern facilities. The housekeeper Bhavari came to welcome them along with her husband Jagan. They were the cutest couple ever. Their constant bickering had Aarti in stitches. Maybe there is a bright side to this kidnapping saga Aarti thought. "You will sleep here Miss Dubey", he said as he showed her to her bedroom. "I know it's not what you are used to but it will have to do for now", he said sarcastically. "Thank you Mr. Scindiya, it will do," she shot back, annoyed at his tone and closed the door in his face.

She was pleasantly surprised at the bedroom. It was clearly decorated for a young lady. It was not overly feminine, in fact it was decorated in different shades of blue. It had a four poster bed with a white cover with minimal blue embroidery. It had even had an en-suite bathroom, with white tiling and blue accessories. It was all so tastefully done. She wondered who this room belonged to. Does he have a girlfriend? She felt that feeling again. Then she mentally shook herself and thought why should I care if he has a girlfriend. In any case he is so miserable, who would want to be his girlfriend anyway. Certainly not me.

I save her and she shuts the door in my face. Yet last night she was bumping and grinding with practically all the men at the party. I wonder if she was interested in any of them. No, what does that matter anyway. I don't care, he tried to convince himself. In any case she is so rude and ungrateful I don't know who would put up with her anyway. Definitely not me.
