I was wondering if you would like to read a fanfiction written from mytho-historical point of view. I am a serious history buff and love writing. I have always wanted to write about ramayana and mahabharata characters. Now I think is the time.
Now before I begin, I want to clarify something, The central characters of Ramayana, in this story would behave more like human beings than Divine avatars. Its my trust that before they were transcended into the status of Gods, they were human being with extraordinary credentials. and we Indians love to hero worship...so a mighty hero, a saviour, an ideal ruler becomes an avatar of Vishnu into the psyche of people.
With each passing generations, interpretations of ramayana got deviated more from the original story and became a mirror of society.
Tuldidas wrote is from a devotee's point of view, Krittivas had a picture how an ideal family should be with bhaiya-bhabi as a replica parent figure and inspirations to the younger siblings. It is said there are 3800 interpretations of Ramayana and each of them has it's writers own imagination added to the original plot line. Is also said that the main Valmiki ramayana ended with Rama's return to Ayodhya and his coronation. The uttar-Ramayana part was completely a later generations interpolation when the status of women had started degrading in society and all ill-practices ( agni-parkisha, wife-abandonment) had started taking place. With so many versions it is really difficult to fathom what happened really thousands of years back ( if we consider it to be a historical document, not a kavya).
So I took some creative liberties and wrote my interpretation of Seeta's journey from girlhood to marriage. [ I am a sucker for happy endings so i wont delve into the incidents that followed😳]
I hope you will like it too !
