Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut reveals why she's a 'complete badass'

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has won a lot of fans by speaking out about the experience of being stalked and physically abused by an older man from the film industry when she was just 17, and having the strength to complain to the police about the assault.

Speaking at a book launch, Ranaut said that the incident happened when she was just a beginner in Bollywood. After an older man from the industry hit her so hard that her head began bleeding, she fought back and struggled to escape. "That day, I really saw myself as who I always thought I was... I'm actually a born flghter," she says in the interview.

Ranaut added that even though the assaulter was not punished, the experience made her a "total badass" and "guarded of my own personal and intimate space."

In the past, the 28-year-old actress has been applauded for her choice of strong female roles, and her stance on sexism and feminism in Bollywood.
