British actor Alan Rickman, best known for his role as Professor Snape in the Harry Potter series, died in London at the age of 69.

The Guardian reported that Rickman had been ill with cancer, and that his family confirmed his death on Thursday (Jan 14).

The actor, known for his silky baritone voice and seductive ability to play villains, first shot to fame in 1988, starring as the evil Hans Gruber beside Bruce Willis in Die Hard.

So sad to hear of this. Wasn't a huge fan of the movies, but there will never be a better Snape than him. 😭

We surely will miss his Potions lessons.

Though Alan Rickman left us, Professor Severus Snape will always remain with us.

I don't know where to went out but Noone understands this so I just came here.

HP for me had been everything. If someone asks something most beautiful that happened to me it has to be HP.
This is what only some can understand. Muggles can never get.
I am feeling like Hassshh. IDK. IDK how I will face the death of each of them. Each of them being the face of my characters.
Snape's love was NO Romeo-Juliet. It was just Love. So Selfless.
I am just devastated.
I didn't want to get the news of something like this happening to Emma,Dan,Tom,Rupert and just anyone.

I'm just done and in my shell for sometime :/
