TaaRey SS : Dumb-Charades
"Rey" a voice comes from the background stiffening me up.
"Yes baby? Coming!" I don't know what she is going to do today. You know lately my life has become a game of Dumb Charades!
I am fed up but she is the love of my life ,my wife. How do I break her heart? I'll make everything right.
I go out towards the kitchen determined to make things right but inside my heart only I knew how I pepped myself up to go to the battlefield.
Go on ,go on! You can call me hen-pecked. I am following her orders but that has a reason you know.
Wanna know the reason? I'll tell you soon.
"Bunny!!" I heard a voice and froze in my tracks ,shit it was happening again! I ran out and next what I say had me worried sick.
Taani was sitting thinking and I wasn't allowed to interrupt probably. I tip-toed closer and tried to take the biscuits kept on table when she yanked my hands away.
Which movie? I don't know what is happening ,god. Yes open google Rey! I thought to myself and took out my cellphone.
Taani came closer to me expecting something. Uh which movie is bunny there? Umm ya maybe she's talking about bugs bunny!

"Are you the girlfriend of Bugs Bunny?" I asked feeling totally stupid when she showed me her eyes ,okay wrong guess ,I get it.
"Naina ,Naina talwar!" she said and I felt my head spinning ,how can the idiotic Hindi movies pair a Naina with a bunny really? And what's with the talwar ,I remember arushi talwar.
"Modern School ,same batch." she said and I was like dude when did I go to modern school. I excused myself saying I need to pee.
She was irritated and not happy but she let me go. I almost banged on the washroom door ,as I went in ,my phone was out of my pocket and I was cursing the Wi-fi network for working so damn slow.
Bunny ,Naina I typed and bam google gave me the answer. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. I was finally able to catch the name of the movie. I did a short dance still in the washroom mind you :P
Then I went back in my dreamy mode ,hell when did I watch this with Taani? What was in the movie? I am clueless ,she will kill me. Taani loves movies as you all know ,please Taani ke Krishna ji help me.!
I calmed myself down. Take a deep breath ,phew. Cool down ha!! Yes. Be cool Rey , act like Bunny , act like Ranbir Kapoor.
What all love makes you do? I squeezed out and saw her pacing around the room in anger. I had searched some videos on net of the movie and I was pretty confident I could do it.

"Tum pehle bhi itni khoobsurat thi ,ya waqt ne kiya koi haseen sitam?" I asked and as expected the glow on her face was back. I could give away anything to see her smile like that.
"Ish ,kya filmy line maari hai." she said leaning across the kitchen counter. I loved her flirty avatar and I was getting it thanks to a movie.
I got so lost in her that I forgot the next line ,screw me. Think ,kya filmy line maari hai ,what can the reply be? Tum chalti phirti film ho?. No damn what nonsense was I thinking. No no!!
"Baby doll ,tum pehle inhi linon pe mara karti thi." I said sighing in relief as I remembered the dialogue but she realised I wasn't in character.
"Main tumpe marti thi please.." she said rather skeptically and I gulped in fear. I looked away and thought of something to do.
"Tum bilkul nahi badle bunny ,siwaye ek baat ke ,purana bunny na khul ke flirt karne ke saath saath khul ke has bhi leta tha!" she replied in her naina mode but I wasn't in bunny mode.
I knew she was saying all that unconsciously but it was nice to see her concern for me. I smiled whole-heartedly and it brought up a smile on her face.
Indeed she was thinking and reacting as Naina but this smile was of my Taani and I was proud of myself. I was getting her back!
The thing is doctors say Taani has some kind of movie phobia disorder. It is like everyday ,she thinks of different movies and enacts like it. The weird part is even we ,the people around her ,need to act like that.
I am quite sad nowadays ,I never get my Taani to me now. It is like she is either of Rahul ,Raj or Bunny for that matter.
Suddenly she pulled my hands and I was furious. What is happening ,I know I need to cooperate but I have a limit.

"Tumhe ho kya gaya hai bunny?" she asked and I was like WHAT? Woman what now? She cleared my confusion and said ,"Jao jake usse sorry bolo!"
My anger level reached the peak as I saw she was pointing at our neighbour Shivam who had a crush on her ,"Muh na tod dun saale ka." I said sub-consciously.
"Tum pagal ho gaye ho bunny." she said and I was irritated ,why was she siding with Shivam. I was such a dumbo I didn't realise ,she was still in her movie condition.
"Tum ye tamasha band karo please. Tum samajhte kyun nahi ,agar main tumhare saath do minute aur rahi to.." she stopped and I was losing my patience at this point.
What did she mean really? Did she love Shivam? Well she could say it ,I would hear it but then I asked ,"To kya?"
"Mujhe tumse pyaar ho jayega phir se, aur tumhe nahi hoga phir se." she said and I was feeling at peace now. The volcano in me subsided making way for my brain to work.
She was still in character ,I looked at her and realized she expected something of me. I didn't know what ,for god's sake I hadn't seen the movie so attentively.
But then I finally managed to look in her eyes and I didn't need a movie to tell me what I saw. I saw my Taani asking me to kiss her.
I went ahead and kissed her with all love. I don't know if that was what happened in the movie ,I don't know if she expected it ,but I knew this was what was destined to happen at this moment.
As I broke the kiss ,I saw a glint in her eyes. She wasn't Naina at the instant. She was my Taani and she hugged me tight to signify that.
"Rey ,I want to sleep." she said and I picked her up in my arms. She snuggled deeper into me as I carried her to our bedroom.
I tucked her in and stared at her till she slept. I did not ,I repeat I did not like this game life was playing with me. Trying to pretend like someone else ,trying to act in front of my wife because of her illness.
But right now ,today ,this was the best kiss we had shared. Maybe this game of Dumb Charades wasn't so bad.
I went back to seeing the videos of the movie ,afterall ,it was just afternoon. After she got up I would have to enact the same movie again.
I sighed and putting my headphones on kept seeing it ,till I started humming the song along with the scene..ya this was what we would enact now.

I was rather excited!! "Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hai ,ke jaise tujhko banaya gaya hai mere liye."
She was getting up and I decided to make her ready for another emotional round. "I love you." I said out of the blue and she stared back.
"I love you too." she replied sourly and I was sure she was in character. I hugged her even as she still lay in her bed.
"Aisa hai ki I love you sirf shuruat hoti hai ,phir kya hota hai bunny?" she asked and I replied "Kya hota hai Naina?"
"Phir wo do log un teen shabdon ko sambhal nahi paate." she replied as I expected. I held her hands and kissed them ,she wasn't expecting that.
I was acting out of character ,I knew that but I wanted to try something. I wanted to see what would happen when I took her name.
"Taani." I spoke and her eyes widened. She wasn't expecting this and as I said this her expressions became rigid.
What I was not ready for was her reaction. She kicked me and told ,"You no longer love me? Right now you said I love you Naina and now you are behind Taani?"
I was mentally chuckling at her reaction. My filmy taani! "Taani ,I am your Rey" I said softly and she was dazed out.
She fainted in my arms and I was shell-shocked. I was crying ,what did I do? I made her stressful ,if something happens to her ,how will I forgive myself?
As the doctor checked her ,stupid thoughts roamed in my head. I rushed in when she was back conscious ,back to her Taani self but I was wrong.
I heard her mumble a name and it surely wasn't Rey. Now what? How do I possibly find out the name and movie now??
"Ah screw Dumb-Charades and Movies." I shouted looking up in exasperation.
