On the other hand we have numerous pretty & talented actresses like Madhubala, Meena kumari, Mumtaz, Waheeda Rehman, Zeenat Amman, Shabana azmi etc etc, so how do explain the uneasiness & protection Rabia ji.

Hmm, I guess I can't explain that, but I was talking about the modern time. As you can see from the posts above, there actually were a good number of Muslim female singers in the past and as you have pointed out, many great actresses too. I'm sure you can agree that there are less Muslim actresses and singers at this time than there were in the past. So maybe mentality has changed. I'm actually not sure what it is exactly...Performing arts have always been somewhat frowned upon in the Muslim community, but maybe people have become even more conservative now.
