TM I like your neutral take on the show...
I am not very well versed with Ramayana, whatever I know is purely based on the different versions of Ramayana which have been shown on TV, hence pardon me if I make a wrong statement...
First of all the show never claimed to be following Valmiki Ramayana or Tulsidas Ramayana or any of the other known versions... Hence I don't see any deviation but a difference in the pov...
About Chandrabhaga case it has not been discussed in detail anywhere, it maybe an addition by cvs as the want to explore Sita 's side of story...
About Shanta I think the show has taken inspiration from a book called "Sita ", so you may refer to it...
As far as Dashrat promising Kaykey' s father about her son being the heir of the kingdom, I think it might not have been written anywhere but implied in most of the texts...
I don't understand why Dashrat's actions are being viewed as wrong... Is it wrong to think for your Kingdom,
The way Shanta 's story played out, it was quite clear that Dashrat never asked Shanta make a tyaag... It was her own decision...
Yesterday Dashrat's dialogue was very touching, A king may do his duty, a student does his Kartvya, but what about a father, similar situation arisen at Shanta's case... Dashrat's silence spoke it all...
Now cvs are certainly showing Dashrat as a real and Janak ideal...
But does being real implies being wrong?
And Raja Janak being a Rajrishi and have been risen above all moh and maya is a fact...
Just that cvs are highlighting it...
I am actually liking the different aspects of Ramayana being shown in this version which might not have been neglected before, but certainly not been highlighted also...
One such aspect is Sita being educated woman..
And Ram being a warrior...
And about spl effects and all, I made a post before also
If our mythological characters were so heroic that they could free the world from the clutches of demons then why not enhance it with addition of graphics...
My personal take hopefully didn't hurt anyone's feelings
