Harry Potter leads children's Bafta nominations

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix received three nominations on Monday in the junior version of the BAFTAs, the UK's annual film and television awards, in the best film, video game and the Bafta Kids' Vote categories. The winners will be announced in London on November 25. [more...]

Rare Harry Potter book to fetch 12k

A rare signed first edition copy of the first book in the Harry Potter series, signed "Joanne Rowling", is expected to fetch up to 12,000 when it goes under the hammer. Also up for auction will be an uncorrected proof copy of the book with "JA Rowling" printed in error on the title page, it is expected to attract as much as 4,000. [more...]

Rumor: J.K. Rowling creating her own Hogwarts

J.K. Rowling is secretly creating her own Hogwarts estate in the Scottish countryside. She first paid 1.9 million for Killiechassie House near Aberfeldy in Perthshire, in 2003 she bought a neighbouring home for 440,000 because it shared her drive, and she has now payed 1.5 million for a farm next-door with 72 acres.
