Dilwale takes record breaking opening in UAE GCC

Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale has taken a record breaking start in UAE GCC, recording the highest opening of all time. The film has collected around 3,300,000 dirhams (a little less than $900,000 as per estimates) on Thursday. The collections are higher than Hollywood film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens which has collected around $500,000 - $550,000.

So how big is the opening compared to other Bollywood films? Check out these numbers:

For Phantom , the best performing overseas circuit was UAE-GCC, where it collected $850,000 in its lifetime. Dilwale has collected more in a single day.
Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected $300,000 on Day 1 in UAE GCC. Business affected by Ramzan.
Varun Dhawan's last film ABCD 2 collected $130,000 on Day 1
Tanu Weds Manu Returns was phenomenal in the Gulf, Day 1 collections $150,000
Varun's Badlapur collected $135,000
Rohit Shetty's last film Singham Returns collected $205,000 on Day 1, which was also the highest opening for Ajay Devgn in Gulf
Salman Khan's Kick collected $293,000 on Day 1

Dilwale was housefull in a 9:00am show in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. It was almost banned a day ago. :D Truly, Love conquers!

Shahrukh Khan starrer has a very good opening in the morning shows. The overall occupancy was 70% which was the third best of 2015. The opening was huge in all over India both at single screens and multiplexes. As the day progressed, it showed very good growth. The occupancy in the evening shows was around 80%. The film was running like a riot in West Bengal, Mysore and Chennai.
Dilwale 1st day collection will be 12th highest opening day ever. The film has beaten Agneepath, and Bodygaurd. There are chances that it will be in the range of Krrish 3 and Kick, when official figures will be out.
Dilwale collection on day 1 is also the 3rd highest for any Shahrukh Khan starrer. His best are Happy New Year and Chennai Express.
The film was hit in Maharashtra by Bajirao Mastani. But in all other places it was way ahead of Ranveer Singh starrer. The margin was more than double in Delhi and Punjab.
Dilwale box office collection is an excellent result on its day 1. The film was released on a normal day and less screens. It was also competing with Bajirao Mastani. Though without clash it would have easily gone to 32 crore+ on its opening day.
The film is carrying good reports in all over India. So it is expected that film will collect in the same range on Saturday. It will be a great result if the film can show some kind of growth. The advance booking is also terrific for tomorrow.
