PS: I disagree with those who are cringing on to the word "conservative" abt those ppl who express shock at this...it doesnt mean they are conservative..ppl can be a bit stupid(me too!) abt their fav characters especially that of a book which hass influenced and attracted 'em so much as HP! An expression of inital shock isnt going to change anything about Albus Dumbledore for them...We like Dumbledore of the book! N not what Jo prefers to blabber abt in an interview..It will matter not n be forgotten in no time! 😉 Tell me...will u be always remembering Dumbldore as "gay" or "as the brilliant brainy genius of HP" n DD's sexuality isnt what matters...We like him as the always good and calm genius!😊

I am so freaking mad at JKR! Dumbledore can't be gay..I mean come on..he's Dumbledore..! So many people, especially kids, look upto him..how can she just say that..To be honest, I don't have a problem with gay people, but Dumbledore can't be gay..

I think it's just a stupid publicity stunt done by JKR so she could get more attention now that the series are over..

I still love the Harry Potter series..they're the best..

But I'm never going to believe that Dumbledore is gay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

No, assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds. The example u gave (severus snape) is an example of alliteration, or the repetition of a consonant.
