Should schools and colleges ban uniforms

No. They shouldn't be banned

Because at a young age girls/boys needn't be conscious about clothing on a daily basis..

But ofcourse...uniforms or no uniforms..it all boils down to parenting.

Uniform in colleges is ridiculous.Dress codes are fine,but that should be it.One cannot hope to influence an 18 year old's thoughts in any way by making them wear a certain attire.They are adults and should be left to dress like the rest.It would do them good to express their self and to embrace their individuality,than end up looking like a bunch of clones.Do colleges have uniforms,anyway? Not many that I know of.

However,in young children, uniform policies helps to evoke a sense of discipline and responsibility-that they should groomed and attired in a manner agreeable to the institution.They teach them to respect the rules and abide by them at an early age because most schools will take disciplinary action against students who violate the uniform policy.It will also eliminate bullying and teasing based on wardrobe choices.Moreover,it helps to level up socio-economic differences and creates a sense of unity among children.
