I think uniforms are useful, so that any intruder can be identified as well.
Also if any school kid starts loitering or cause problems, we can tell from which school they are.

Uniform shouldnt be banned...atleast in schools they(students) will be equal irrespective of the background..

In fact i suggest schools should introduce more uniformity in the classroom.

1. Uniform dress code
2. Uniform Textbooks and notebooks
3. Uniform Pencils and Pens and every other items that comes into the class

I know all too well when children get into that class there is a war on who brings the best pens and pencils or the boxes or the book covers or the name labels. The rich get in best to rub it on the noses of the poor. More pressure on the parents to match up to the expectations of the peer pressure.
