Coming to the scene in the hall, which I absolutely loved for the power packerd performance, both as a character and as an actor. Preet and Ishan both have certain expectations from their partners as the other has always been very giving, fullfilling wish kind. So when Ishan is thrown into a situation where he fails to connect with Preet as she has done the unexpected, he gets caught in most off guard manner. He wants to make things right to make her look like that perfect daughter in law whose perception is there in his mind and even becomes unreasonable in the process. On the other hand, Preet who also has expectations from the most closest to heart relationship and thinks even if no one stands in support of her, the man who claims to know changing colors of her cheek to get her mood swings and says that she can be anything but wrong would be there, thus gets amazed in the most disappointed way . She only has unshed tears when her man keeps on asking her same question of a misdeed though she keeps on trying to explain. Her expectations from her partner gets shattered too. Well balanced between the two protagonists. The show stealer is surely PREET for her determination and not giving in that situation even if she was highly pressurised. You go girl. Yes she became the misunderstood companion but also was a disappointed soul too. Mona's portrayal was superlative to say the least.
It is said that if there is friendship in a marriage, its the strongest as you know each other like friends. But I guess marriage is still not that much flexible kind which gives lenient escapes in similar situations when dealt in a friendship. Its much more complex kind a relationship. Thus Ishan and Preet who have based the foundation of their relationship on the grounds of being best friends and knowing , sharing everything about & with each other, fails to recognize their friends in a crisis moment. Preet only repeats Ishan's words in disbelief that he thinks she is a jealous and insevure wife and her behaviour is of normal human nature. Ishan also fails to identify with his preet who gets taken over by her weakness, her negative traits and in the process starts to forget her duties. Friendship gets blurred, marriage and its demands remain between the two I suppose! Lovely angle. Having said that will also add that as they both know each other so well, they did hit back at each other just like thick friends do. Ishan saying that he still knows Preet is that woman who can go ahead despite her weaknesses and Preet telling he has been a sheer disappointment by getting involved in the petty arguements without assessing the situation. Both tried to help each other overcome their flaws by pinpointing their behvioural mistake, just like TRUE FRIENDS do. Great to see that these two people can say anything to each other in the most uninhibited way.
Two words which got echoed the most in that entire arguement scene in the bedroom were-TRUST AND BELIEF. the utmost factor for Preet to make her relationship a success and thus she wants the same for Sid and Trisha too. Only one thing can describe her situation-IRONY OF LIFE. Her trust and belef gets cheated everyday unknowingly and the base of her relationship is nothing but a big, fat lie. I loved when she said she would die if she comes to know that Ishan is not what he is believed to be. Very uncannily she just forecasted her future life. Loved the way expressions changed in seconds on Rizwan's face and he wanted to divert the topic. Absolute brillance was Aatif's call and Rirzwan disconnecting it while Preet went ahead saying-yehi toh hamari rishte ka sach, bhrosa. Juxtapositioning of bharosa of preet and betrayal of Rizwan was a , adterstroke. In a way hardhitting too. 👏 so will it be the bharosa , the trust, the belief which will catalyse Rizwan's redemption and him giving up his betrayal? Or his betrayal will be the reason for Preet to live any more? Only time will tell.
For the time being it is getting tested everyday and not in a balanced state at all.
In the concluding part of the scene, Rizwan talks about sense of respect in the relationship and makes it clear that it will be difficult for him to take pride in her. Isnt respect is a two way steeet in a relationship? If it is so, then please respect heropinions and words rather than accusing her infront of so many people just to prove a poibt that you are an aadarsh beta, aadarsh bhai. Fair enough from his pov as he wants to settle things begore he takes a leave. But expecting respect for his words, or his orders if I may say so when he fails to even give bit of respectful attention to her situation soubds very shallow, atleast to me. Do not want to give respect, then please do not even ask for it in return. Fair deal then! In a partnership, both are equal and no point in trying to have the superior position. But let say men love to forget that. So when IIshriz gets his answer from his wife -Aaj bina thappad mare hi tumne mera bhrosa todha hai, I guess he also somewhere deep down comes to know that he is failing her and thats why those unspoken apologies. Ladtly would just add that there is a quote saying that a perfect relationship is about two imperfect people who refuse togive up on each other. As these two protagonists are so hopelessly in love with each other despite of all adeversities , that I guess we can surely reassure ourselves that they are not going to give up on each other anytime soon. So let them argue, hitting back at each other while accusing bit with the thought that they belong to each other. Thus even in most awkward moments filled with angst, helplessness they can still say TUMHARI PREET aisa nahi kar sakti hai and MERI PREET aisi nahi hai. Love still binds them together. So cheers to that. ❤️
