TB Article::The 'other' woman in Ashok's life on 'Mere Angne Mein'!!

Ashish Roy, who portrays the popular character of a loving husband on the show, is shown to have another woman in his life! The mild-mannered, self-satisfied man who is totally besotted with his bad-tempered and utterly manipulative wife Sarla (Ananya Khare), is seen canoodling with a woman named Nirmala.

When contacted about this unexpected twist in the tale, Ashish Roy admitted that he too was taken by surprise at this unexpected twist. "This certainly makes my character much more interesting!" he opines."The very fact that I play a repressed husband, whose love for his wife is never reciprocated, was interesting. I have never played a character like this before. I'm not like that at all in my real life. And the audience' response to my serious role has been overwhelming. Having another woman in my life is a killer punch. Now I have to work twice as hard to make the audience like me!"

Newcomer Shruti Sharma, who plays the 'other' woman, is all praises for Ashish Roy. "He is a wonderful co-star to work with. On our first day of shooting together, he came to my makeup room and introduced himself! He was shooting in a sweater and muffler in 40 degrees all day, but he never let that bother him, and was at his co-operative best. It being my introductory scene into the story, he was always at hand with suggestions and tips on how to perform better. Like I said, I couldn't have hoped for a better co-star."

The scene they canned was how Rani (Roshni Rastogi) sees them together and, in spite of Ashish telling her not to reveal this to his wife, she promptly spills the beans to her. What follows is total mayhem in the house as Sarla confronts him and demands an explanation. Just then Ashok receives a phone call that they have to vacate their house within 24 hours!

This double crisis promises some interesting viewing in the coming weeks for sure. All that is left to see is whether Ashish manages to retain his fan following after this staggering revelation about his character. Well, we shall wait and watch.
