Would Tamasha have worked if the lead heroine was anyone other than Deepika? I mean, audiences actually go to see her. People are disappointed she was not there in second half.

Deepika displays her finest in emotions, body language and chemistry. She is absolutely fantastic in the movie. Ranbir might carry the movie on his shoulders, but Deepika is the surprise package of the movie. She is heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Not just physically, but somehow she is the soul of the movie.

My point is: would the movie have worked if Anushka, Sonakshi, Sonam, Shraddha etc. have been in the movie? i think, the movie would have been a flop. What do you think?

Ranbir is lucky Deepika is his co-star in the movie. A 40 crore weekend would have been impossible otherwise. The movie would have flopped just like BV, roy etc.

people are actually queing up at the hall just to see her. i am not speaking like a blind fan. I would attribute the sucess of the weeknd to just her.

Deepika is truly a lucky charm for Ranbir.

its too early to say anything
sunday growth is not that good. just had 95lac growth as per Taran's tweet
today we will get clear picture 😛
if budget is 80 crore then average at best IMO 😊

Finding Fanny got 1 crore because it was an english film. Such a film would obviously have a very limited audience.

No.
Tamasha is a film ahead of its time for Indian audiences.
Its trailer was dull and so was music which failed to catch any attention.
So it needed a famous pair as a face and brilliant performances. Ranbir and Deepika fit the bill.

The film is doing gud but yup all can't like it as its not a masala movie but little dark kinda but its fab in its own way n no other actress would have done it better than Dp👍🏼

Spoken like a true DP fan.

When the film is all about ranbir, can't help but only cite her as the factor for success. SMH.

Everyone is praising both their performances not only hers.

And ranbir carried the film despite its flaws in script. It wasn't engaging and that's the fault of the director.. So right question would have been if it was some other director, would it have worked?
