Thorn Birds

Yes that is who Dhani and Viplav are. They are two thorn birds. Birds in pain. Why do I call them Thorn birds? The path of their love story is strewn with thorns. In a city which is seeped in culture, old traditions and blind faith, it is not easy to go against the masses to achieve what your heart dreams of.

Currently our birds are in pain. Little do they know or even attempt to know the reason behind their pain. Till realisation dawns, they will continue to mope and being melancholy. But fikar not. It is only a matter of time. It is only until one of them realises what they feel for the other. It is only until one them realises that what they feel for the other is more than friendship.

I see many on this forum not too happy with the proceedings. When the MU between the leads was announced, I too was a bit disappointed. I did not want my favourite serial to take the hackneyed path. However I realised that this was the concept on which the series was based on. Please hear me out.

In my opinion the serial is following what it had promised. The synopsis read that this is a story of a young widow and her struggles in life to find happiness. On the other hand it also said that this is a story of a boy who falls in love with a young widow and his struggles with the society and his family in getting married to her. Never did they promise a smooth sailing love story. I am not sure if you remember seeing one of the promos in which Viplav is trying to put sindhoor on a photo of Dhani.. DT comes right on the nick of time to hold his hand thus preventing him from the symbolic marriage.

They say coming events cast their shadows. Turn of events are already evident in the form of the sage's prediction. He predicted that their past would come back to become their present and their future. We were also told that the new entrant (the dancer) will only appear in 15 episodes which means in 10 days we will see Dhani reaching the venue of her wedding but her rishta with that horrible Tripurari will not culminate in marriage.

Dhani may get back to wearing white when the wedding will be called off. Seeing her in white again will hurt Viplav. Perhaps the new Montage is an indication what is waiting to transpire. We may see a guy in colourful attire holding the wrist of his unwilling would-be bride. He may marry her out of sympathy or out of compulsion. I say compulsion because he may not have any other option to prevent the society unfurling their anger once again on Dhani. They may taunt her and call her bad luck. Or Perhaps he will be repulsed when he sees the true face of his family. This may be why we read of Viplav moving back into the Ashram. There are many possibilities. I will leave it up to the CVs to tell their story the way they feel best to earn the higher TRPs and fan following.

Hang in there boys and girls. This too shall pass.

I still hope this MU track leading into a major phase of the story.. At sometimes I couldn't get their actual feelings, right now they're passing every bit of emotions. U are so right as it's a initial tagline when VT trying to apply sindoor DT opposing him...I'm enjoying their various unspoken pain and hurt , without creating exaggerated situation.. So there is much more yet to come.. Thanks a lot for this awesome post, it made my day!!

I am with you on your take of the show so far. Other than a few jerky shifts in tracks and a mu hanging by a thread I think the show is moving along well . The one thing though I think has been glossed over is the remarriage of a widow . It's a very sensitive topic and when I started to follow the show I thought it to be revolutionary to bring to light such a topic. For an orthodox society and city like Benares a widow getting back to the main stream according to me is big.

I would think that Viplav love will overcome such an obstacle to win her love. That for now is a bit diluted and heading towards a personal fight between the two .

I still have a lot of hopes with this show and loving it so far. So I am holding tight waiting to see what happens next.

Yes the CVs had set out with a very sensitive and controversial topic. However it would be unrealistic had romance bloomed between them while he was in the Ashram. Here's why. He went into the Ashram with the intention of protecting them and to make a life for them. This was right after the near drowning incident of Dhani. Had romance bloomed at that time it would have been the talk of the town. The timing was not right because Viplav too had just come out of a broken engagement. Falling in love with Dhani would have looked like love on the re-bound. So the timing was not quite right for romance to bloom.

It would have been so unrealistic had they fallen in love because Dhani has been a widow for a while. With a strict upbringing falling for a guy who had been tormenting her would be unthinkable at that juncture. More so for VIplav who said he was not looking for a relationship at that point of time and wanted to concentrate on career. , he made it very clear that he wanted to be her friend. Because that is how you build trust. For a widow to jump straight into a full bloom romance would have not been easy watch. It has to be gradual.

I agree had this MU had not happened they would have progressed from being friends to the next level. But a relationship between them could have never culminated in marriage so easily.

Even though there are many spoilers hinting towards a marriage between the leads, the family wont accept it and Dhani may end up wearing white until she is accepted. I dont know how all this will play out but I like the way the serial is progressing. Anything other than this would have been unrealistic and unbelievable.

I will let the CVs present their story and take it one day at a time. One thing l learnt from IPKKND was to never never invest my emotions in a serial. That is truly injurious to your health LOL

I was very disappointed that we nearly reached episode 100..and we are still in square one. No major happenings in ViDha's love story.

Colors tv can't wait forever for IKRS to get better TRPs. They may end it..even before we get our most awaited love story. This happened with this ph last show which was ended abruptly even before we get a proper love confession.

Thank you dear. It is still a Vidha love story. Nothing has changed. On the contrary it would have looked so awkward had love bloomed when viplav was in the Ashram. That would have been bad for Dhani's reputation and the ladies of white cause god knows what the evil Tripathi's would have said. They would have definitely put the entire blame on the ladies in white and would have said that Dhani enticed him.

If we want our serial to be different why are we expecting the same formula that we see in every serial? Yes the leads are cute when they are together but on the other side both leads are getting to display various emotions. I see it as career growth and opportunity for the actors.

I will say wait for 9 more episodes to see what transpires.

Many like me I irked cos of marriage happening soon which can be shown much later..As the title ,titletrack suggest ishq ka rang safed...where is ishq here????ishq for a widow..all the promos suggests that viplav is madly in love.. n would go to any extent in making dhaani his...the sindoor promo!!!.the one dialogue tat he says..tum uparwale se mangri ho aur hum uparwale se tumhe...where is that??? Where is that deewana ashiq????where is that viplav???

infact the synopsis as u mentioned suggest viplavs struggles with the society n family to get married!! Where is it??? Does it makes sense after marriage,hes going to face the society,what kind of struggles then??? Now if viplav gets married under complusion or of sympathy which is going to happen according to spoilers ,then its not the show what was projected from start... there is no ishq here!!! wheres the widow remarrige issue??? From the very start,for each and every thing the widows were shown badly mistreated by the society n now when she is getting married,not even a backlash!!

I m enjoying tis phase of Vidhas awkward ,silent glances,confusions,taunts...but they can be many ways to make viplav realize his feelings instead of marrying them at the last moment...Dont mind the misunderstandings shown too as it bringing out desperation,angst,hurt,emotions...n their pain is felt through...

I want this show to do better cos it has the potential to draw audience..for the brilliant actors,the story n Cvs hardwork..wish to see trp rise !!

In all the promos, love was one sided. There was no romance promised. We were only shown Viplav pinning for Dhani and not vice versa. They never showed romance. In all the promos it was he who was seeking her out and she was avoiding him. Even though spoilers hint a marriage between Viplav and Dhani I do not think it would happen. Even if it does will Dhani be seen in colour ? - I doubt it.

I am tired of seeing groom/bride swaps, marriage under duress or compulsion.

Sometimes romance between two people dont just happen. Its a gradual process. You become friends, get to know more about the other then we see a gradual progress . very few serials treat romance this way. So all I say is lets give it a chance.

After Thulsi's entry we saw a change in the relationship of Vidha. Now after the dancer incident we may get to see Viplavs passion. Who knows. Lets enjoy one day at a time.

With this MU I am sure Viplav will realise his true feelings for Dhani. We can already see Daadi questioning his feelings. Not too long ago, when Shalu his sister queried him if he was in love with Dhani, Viplav became belligerent. He went to the extent of kicking her. I am sure if Daadi asks him after the MU he will tell another story.

This serial was never set out to be a breezy romantic story. It was meant to be one that had many hurdles and travesties thrown at them. In my opinion, the True face of DT will only be revealed in the end. He will continue to play his games even after Tripurari goes to prison.

I agree,, only Vips was in love with the widow.. that's wat they showedin promos.. but I want him to fell in love before marriage.. I want him to fight n win his love against all odds!! I don't want him to fall for dhani overnight... it should b gradual n before marriage. . Otherwise wud look ugly to me...
Baaqi I'm cool with how they proceed. . I'm jst hating even the idea of forced marriage. .caz it's already done to death.. n now cringe-worthy for me..
