Who should be blamed for the failure of a movie?

More films fail than work at BO each year. Would love to know from you all, who the primary person responsible for the failure of the movie should be.

Yes, it's all a team work...bla bla... But someone should be accountable for the failure; after all producers investment is at stake, apart from actors & production time and AAM jantas time and money.

imo, I hold the director responsible. He is the captain of the ship and should know what it is all coming to.

The Director is responsible.

Its a director's vision that shapes a movie, the final product. So if he/she does a shoddy job, then nothing can save the film, neither brilliant acting, nor great music, nor a good script. A director is like the sculptor who takes the raw materials, story, actors, sets and gives it a definite shape, whether good, bad or ugly depends upon his skills.

Yeh acha hai! Film flop Hui toh director ki waje se Aur Hit hui Toh Salman Khan or Sharukhan ki Waje se! Wah Re India aur India-Forum walon! Jiyo!

It depends. If it's a SUPERstar in the film or a star than film's success belongs to THEM only. For example salman, shahrukh, and aamir make their films a HIT because of them. Even if the film is trash, people will run to see sallu and srk on screen.

But when it comes to people who are NOT stars than responsibility relies on the director and how he delivers a good film and if it does well than it's because he made a good film.
