BJP activists burn Aamir's poster in Sangam city
Rajeev Mani,TNN | Nov 24, 2015, 05.43 PM IST

ALLAHABAD: Angered over the recent remarks made by Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, activists of BJP burnt the posters of the actor in the Sangam city on Tuesday. The activists termed his statement, pertaining to idea of leaving the country, as anti-national and sought action against him.

On Tuesday, around two dozen activists of BJP assembled at the busy Subhash crossing of the city along with posters of the cinestar. Shouting slogans against the comments made by the actor, they were holding placards in their hands wherein it was written that, 'acche din aa rahe hain, desh-drohi desh chod ke jaa rahain hai' (good days are coming because of which anti-nationals are leaving the country).

The activists were of the view that it is the common man of India which has given so much of love and affection to the eminent actor than how can he say that there is growing intolerance in the country. The protesters also said that government should initiate action against Khan and he should be booked for sedition.

Police complaint against Aamir Khan over intolerance remark

IANS | Updated: Nov 24, 2015 15:57 IST

Amid reactions from various fronts on Bollywood star Aamir Khan's remarks over the "growing intolerance" in the country, short filmmaker Ullhas PR on Tuesday filed a police complaint against him at the New Ashok Nagar police station in the Capital.

Ullhas told IANS: "We have certain fundamental duties...which says that we should maintain harmony in the nation. So when celebrities give such type of statements, they should first mention which society are they talking about where people are living in scared conditions?"

The filmmaker had earlier lodged a complaint against the actor-producer following the release of his "PK", in which he referred to policemen as "thulla".

Ullhas added that "celebrities should think about their status and duties before making such statements. If they can't help bring peace and prosperity in the nation, they shouldn't scare people by speaking about intolerance and other issues".

Aamir at an awards event in the capital on Monday said that India is going through a state of "growing despondency", where his wife Kiran Rao "fears for her child, she fears for the atmosphere around us, she feels scared to open the newspapers every day".

His comments have been criticised by the BJP as well as some film fraternity members like Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal and Ashoke Pandit. However, Congress and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have supported Aamir.

I guess Amir couldn't handle all the attention SRK was getting and his insecure ass wanted the spotlight on himself. Good going Aamir. 👏

I think other than political parties everybody is tolerant. 🤔 Can't stand a single criticism against something but go ahead and make stupid and irrational appointment of important instituitions. Let people make fake video footages of developed India misguiding the people and no protests or fury over it. Such hypocritical leaders we have.

I just wanted to share Paresh Rawal's tweets towards Aamir. I found his tweets more sensible than Anupam Kher:
Aamir is a fighter so he should not leave but change the situation in the country ! jeena yahan marna yahan !

A true patriot will not run away n leave his motherland behind in turmoil or in troubled times (if any )...don't escape - build it .
If I believe this is my motherland then I will never talk about leaving it ...but I would if I had believed otherwise ...

Intolerance !PK did rattle the belief of Hindus but Aamir dint face the wrath of Hindu or THE MAJORITY n but was super hit n made crores !
===========

I don't know where I stand and quite frankly I couldn't give a shit if Aamir wants to move or not. He has his own family and his family is his priority.

These parties are disgusting. Why don't they go tackle more important issues. Who cares about what Aamir said. That man is entitled to his opinion

Aamir should not retract his statement. India and Indians should be a bit more 'tolerant' about such remarks. There's absolutely no need to be up in arms whenever someone says anything against India.
