shahid on sets of Jhalak

This is what Shahid Kapur said on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa during an interview with Times Now, the show's English channel partner, ending his silence on the subject

Though Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor were both present (yet alag-alag) to promote their film Jab We Met in the Star One show Nach Baliye, Shahid made a solo appearance on both Star Plus's music-based show, Voice of India as well as in the Sony dance drama Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

But what is of even more interest than Kareena's no-show at the promotions, is what Shahid quipped on the sets of the Sony show. Jhalak, which has a tie-up with the English channel (Times Now), has Shahid on record saying in the course of an interview, "For all ye girls out there, I am single and ready to mingle!"

This telling statement from the actor is surprising as Shahid has preferred to remain mum about the Kareena front. Ever since his return from Canada, where he had a long schedule for Aziz Mirza's film, the actor has been busy promoting the Imtiaz Ali directed venture but anything to do with his state of affairs was a no-no. Kareena, too, has kept mum about the issue and has refused to answer anything pertaining to her state of affairs with Shahid.

Says an onlooker, "Shahid was being interviewed by the channel partners of Jhalak. During the Hindi channel (IBN 7) interview, he stuck to his 'no personal questions' stance but when it was the turn of the English channel (Times Now), he made the statement about his single status."

So is this Shahid's way of clearing all doubts whether he and Kareena were a couple or not? Or did he make it in jest?
Adds the onlooker, "Shahid appeared to be in an extremely happy mood on the sets of Jhalak. Maybe it had something to do with judge Shiamak Davar whom Shahid considers as his dance guru. Shahid began as a student with Shiamak. Moreover the episode also has the Jhalak team celebrating Shiamak's birthday which falls on October 19. Shiamak also danced with Shahid on the show."
Interestingly, both Nach Baliye and Voice of India were shot at Film City, Goregaon, on the same day — Monday. The Jhalak episode was canned at RK Studios, Chembur, on Saturday.

It is learnt that as Kareena is too busy with Yash Raj's Tashan, and could not find time to promote Jab We Met on the other two shows.
All the three channels will be airing the Jab We Met promotions on the same day — on Friday, while the channel partners will air their bytes and behind the scenes look throughout the week.
