The scene where Mastani is chained and left alone to wail was heartbreaking, I think this is when when Mastani was kept on house arrest by Bajirao's brother and family. Also the scene where she runs for her life with the baby in her hand.

Kashibai is also a wronged woman. Bajirao falls for a more beautiful and fierce warrior even though he was still very much in love with kashibai, but he doesn't abandon kashi after marrying mastani. But still he cheated on her in a way.

and does it justify if kashi causes any harm to Mastani with the help of her family??? What exactly did mastani do wrong that she deserves the treatment.

Also I read that Mastani was probably molested and killed by her stepson(kashi's son) after bajirao death and he spread the rumor everywhere that she was courtesan/prostitute... if that is true it is disturbing.

PS: I am not talking about actors(anyone could have played them) but about the actual character or the historical figures

Nobody is at fault here though you know,Kashibai was wronged and cheated, she had to share her love and its evident bajirao loved mastani much more than her, now I guess someone facing such betrayal can plot murder, if its supported by the family.Bajirao's whole family ploted against mastani and kashi supported it as she wanted her husband to love her only, not an unfair demand actually. But that does not justify her trying to harm mastani though.Bajirao cant be blamed either, he was married to kashibai in childhood, he did not choose her.It normal hwhen he attains youth he falls for a girl of his choice, and one cant control the heart, or dictate whom it should fall for.Mastani to was not wrong in any way, she was no dancer as shown in the film, she was a princess of a hindu king, yes her mother was a muslim courtesian. She had every right to love bajirao, he too loved her, and polygamy was normal those days so you cant say how could she fall for a married man.Its a situation where noone is at fault but the situation is.Polygamy is a bad practice actually, both parties suffer.Glad its not there now I would have never shared my hubby with anyone😡

Lol, I wanted to make a similar thread "whom do you ship?" bajirao-kashi or bajirao-mastani...😆

I dont know a thing about the actual history, but from the film it feels like Kashi really got a raw deal. Look at Bajirao's onliner "Bajirao ne Mastani se mohabbat kee hai, aaiyashi nahi!!" Now tell me which married woman would like her husband speak like that about another woman?

Back in those days raja maharajas used to have 100s of wives and infidelity was a none-issue. But I cant quite feel any sympathy for Mastani. She shouldnt have stepped into a married man's life. 😆

If you are talking about history, definitely Mastani. Her main fault was her Islamic heritage. Hindu Brahmins were/are notoriously conservative about intercaste marriage and this was one marriage that pretty much rocked the foundation of ultra conservative Maratha empire. It's not like Maratha warriors did not have multiple queens, Mastani was particularly persecuted because of her heritage. That can never be right. People here don't understand the politics behind a whole empire punishing a single woman.
But if you are talking about the film, Kashi bai.

But it is not her fault, polygamy was common practice, so it was not a big deal. Another theory that she was "gifted" to Bajirao by Mastani's father.
