This movie could have been much better if they used lighter coloring and more comedy. The ending and all is perfect and I loved the little Ethan story. I just wished it didn't stretch so much.
Both HR and Aish were so perfect. And this movie is when my love for ARK started. I thought he was so cute and charismatic and then post-A2 I started finding him all hot and shit. 😆

One BW film I happened to come across and watch a part of it. I liked individual aspects of it and it was definitely something different considering it was dealing with euthanasia. Definitely do like the HR-Aish Jodi pair as well.

I had heard that this movie had flopped horribly so I was under the impression that it had sucked. It was coming on TV one day and with nothing better to do, I watched it. And wow, it's such an underrated movie! Hritik's acting was amazing. That scene where he's stuck with the water droplet hitting him throughout the entire night -- Hritik emoted the helplessness and acceptance of the situation so well! Heartbreakingly beautiful!

And it wasn't just him who performed well -- everyone did!

I read up on the movie after I finished watching it and the little details SLB added were really great! He mentioned the reason why Ethan wore pink glasses was to show how he still wanted to see the world through "rose-coloured glasses" and how Sofia wore bright red lipstick despite her horribly abusive husband and sad life because she knew that was what Ethan would see and she wanted to make it brighter. I'm not articulating it well, but it was great!

The movie was definitely slow for sure and I think it did take away from the entire experience. But just in general, it was so heartbreakingly beautiful! I couldn't believe it was SLB because the extravagance I associate with him was not really there. It wasn't a minimalistic movie at all, but there was actual focus upon the characters. They all had depth. Usually SLB has the tendency to focus on the background or let the background overshadow the characters/ actor. And in this movie, while there was a lot of thought put into the background, it still felt like the movie was focused upon the characters and their feelings.

I just, the ending itself gets to me every time. It's such a happy moment but also such a sombering time. Hard to articulate, but an absolutely beautiful movie!

you have put this up so well. Yes heart breakingly beautiful .

About sofia putting up red lipstick, yes even i had read the same thing that SLB said how Ethan had never got out of his gloomy house since his paralysis, that is 12 years, sofia was the only person who gave him hope, brought joy in his life, her dark clothes but yet the deep red colors of her scarf, lipstick and even the rose she wore in her plait use to make his gloomy life brighter , he wanted to see her like that, he knew that even her life is nothing less than miserable.

All the characters , even Ethan's mother, the lawyer who opposes his euthanisia appeal, the doctor, they had less screen time but their characters stood out . The best ofcourse was Omar ( ARK ), i thought he was the most happy character of the film, he had taken Ethan back into his glory days, days of magic, days of fame , and how he pushes Ethan to realize that Sofia loves him .
