I once watched a show that for ten YEARS kept its leads apart (I only started watching halfway through). At some point it made no sense that the two would even be friends anymore, let alone romantically interested due to all the misunderstandings/circumstances/other relationships that had occurred in the meantime.

They did finally confess their feelings for each other, in the very LAST episode when it had finally been canceled and the characters were about to move away from each other (sound familiar?) but looking back on it the whole thing was pathetic.

So very glad it didn't stretch to that extent here.
