I'm going to be writing a story on long distance relationship(s) and I sincerely hope that I am able to make it an enjoyable read ... I hope I'm able to flesh it out properly but I will hope that I'm able to do justice to my writing and the story I've wanted to narrate since so long! - Umeirah 😳

Prologue



His craze had driven them apart! Could the gaps be bridged? Would he be able to mend their tainted relationship?

Part 1

He lay in his bed; motion less... tired from the days events. As he happened to glance through his photo gallery he came across a picture which drove him down memory lane

Flashback

A young girl of age no more than 14 years entered through the gates of Senior School. It being her first day, she was ought to be nervous. To add to that, the whole school was being held for inspection. In the midst of finding her classroom, the girl was accused of deliberately scattering marbles across the corridor due to which the inspection officer fell on his back and broke it!

"ouch!"

At first it was anxiety that was eating her up but to add to the pressure; exclusion was on it's way! The poor girl broke down into tears it was only then that the mischievous gang of guys owned up to their wrong doing and freed the docile girl from the clutches of the "pain in the ass" Principle!

"May we come in sir?" a group of around 5 boys echoed standing just outside the disciplinarians' office ...

"Yes, you may..."

"Sir" spoke the loudest of all "I wanted to confess that I was the one who put those marbles in this girl's bag!"

The Principle shot daggers at the young chap who's only concern was to help the girl escape the wrath of the nasty Principle who was just such a bore himself!

"I am sorry Sir. I hadn't realised that the matter would escalate to such an extent. I sincerely apologise and hope that you will not rusticate me ... I'm sorry ... it was meant to be a prank"

"Oh hello... you're prank has cost me my future ... you better pay for this!"

"oh hello! Don't show me this attitude, ok? You should be thanking me... I felt sorry for you and came over to rescue you but seems like you are too arrogant to acknowledge that!"

"Don't try to act smart boy ... I know boys like you who try to flirt with girls ..." she was cut short by the Dean

"Quiet you both! This isn't your house where you can blabber on and on. We have a decorum which you must abide by ..."

"Sorry sir" the duo voiced in synch

"Ishita Iyer, I let you go this once but mind you if this is repeated... you'll see the better of me! Understood?"

"Iyer" Raman mimicked in a derogatory tone... "haha... Madrasan!!"

Ishita just left quietly followed closely by Raman and his friends

END OF PART 1

Ishita who had been closely followed by Raman was getting pissed off big time. She turned round to blast him and gave him an earful; left, right, centre ... yet he was no less!

"Kya kabse mere peeche padhe hue ho, haan? Problem kya hai tumhaari! Kutte ki dum ki tarah; mujhse chipke hue ho! What the hell?

("You've been wondering behind me since God knows how long! You are stuck to me as a dog would be to it's tail! What the hell?")

"Dekho main jaanta hoon ke tum iss school mein nayi entry ho that's why I wanna help you around! I know we had a bitter start but we can definitely change the equation... why keep any angst against each other! We don't have any personal dushmani, right? Let's clear it out, what say you?" Raman said extending his hand towards Ishita

"Yeah ... actually!" Ishita reciprocated his gesture

"Aur woh "Madrasan" wala kya comment tha?"

"Oh!" Raman recalled "Don't misunderstand that woh toh hum Punjabi mein South Indians ko yahi "Madraasi" kehte hain ... tumhe problem hai koi toh nahi kahoonga!?" Raman cleared Ishita's doubts

"We've been talking since long but have we introduced each other?"

"Hi! I'm Raman and tumhaara naam toh pata hi hai mujhe ... so can I call you "Ishu"?

"Hey!! Meri Amma mujhe Ishu bulaati hain!!"

"Tum South Indians ka culture kaafi cool hoga, nahi?

"Tumhe interest hai different cultures ke baare seekhne mein?"

"Absolutely! I mean mujhe travelling ka, diverse cultures ke baare mein seekhne ka bahut shouk hai! It's a good break away from the loud background that I belong to..."
