Shahid did have PC in Teri Meri Kaahani (or whatever it was called), and Saif had Kat in Phantom. Did no good.

We do need good actors like Ranbir to take the place of the Khans who are getting old and tired and can no longer go on acting as 25-30 yr olds, as they will graduate to 40-50 yr old roles by next year.

And I dont agree abt Akshay, he has given some very good films in recent times like Baby and Special 26. So we need Akki too though hes also getting old.

Varun, ARK, Sid, they are all promising young actors and in next decade may prove to be successful replacements of the Khans.

The problem is: 2000-2009 produced no superstars except Hrithik and the Khans had an elongated run at the box office. Hrithik is sporadic with very few films and does not cash in on his popularity.

This decade there are stars who have popularity among the youngsters. RK, RS, Varun and Sid are all hugely popular among the teenagers and early 20's youngsters. They will be the replacements of the Khans.

OT: Ranbir is amazingly talented and will bounce back. Its just a matter of time. He has the acting chops and screen presence. Don't forget he got Besharam and Roy huge openings at the box office. that is star power.
