Chapter 78 Recap "Do whatever you want. That's what you've been doing so far." He walked off without looking back while Mihika and Mihir looked at Ishita's teary eyes as she tried to call out to him. When he didn't say anything, Ishita went behind him, leaving the couple along feeling guilty about the mess they had created and the beginning of its outcome...
Chapter 79 As he stormed out of the restaurant, he could hear her footsteps behind him and her voice calling out to him. But his anger was on a whole different level today. He was already upset on seeing the man he hated with his sister-in-law, but now he had to discover the fact that his wife knew this, but chose to hide the fact from him. But hearing the desperation in her voice as she called out to him, he had to stop in his tracks and turn around.
Seeing him stop, she quickly took a step forward to reach him only to end up slipping forward. He was quick enough to step forward and hold her shoulders to stop her from falling. His other hand and both of hers went around her stomach protectively holding onto her. As she stood up composing herself from the almost fall, they both sighed in relief while she was trembling in his arms trying to just take in everything that happened in the past few moments.
Pulling her closer, he stroked her back trying to help her regain composure while she held onto his hand tightly and looked up at him scared of his reaction yet wanting him by his side.
"You're okay..." He whispered while she looked at him with unshed tears in her eyes. He felt guilty for a moment to have caused this by walking off, but that was overridden by his anger once he saw Mihir and Mihika walking out. He looked back at Ishita trying to control his anger as he stood up straight breaking apart from her...
"But can't you be careful?! Don't you know how to walk?!"
"Raman, I'm sorry. But listen to me!" She wanted one chance to explain herself and everything to him. But he was in no mood to listen due to the way everything came out in front of him.
"No! I won't. You three have done whatever you liked till now, so now I'll do what I like."
"I wanted to tell you."
"But you didn't."
"I know, I tried to tell you today."
"The point is you didn't. Had I not gone back in, I would have never known!" He tried to control his tone, but lying was the one thing he was unable to tolerate and especially from her. After their conversation will was starting to become an argument, he was losing the remaining patience he had.
"But now you do, and I was going to tell you."
"You're right. Now I know, and now I'm dealing with this the way I would have done had I known from the beginning."
"You don't even know what their issue is!"
"I'm the issue! I'm not that stupid that I can't piece together everything."
"You're not the issue, it's just the equation between you and Mihir."
"Exactly, so now I'm just going to finish this thing off for once and for all!" He turned to leave while she held his hand stopping him.
"What are you going to do?!" She asked him sternly, but he was in no mood to listen.
"You'll see." He looked at her sternly while he gave a quick angry look to the couple standing a few feet away from them. He went into their car while she quickly got in as well not before looking at the couple who silently watched and assuring them it would be okay...
~~~~~
With her mother-in-law in the car, she couldn't talk to him and could only look at him hoping his anger would cool down just a bit as they would deal with this matter. She listened quietly as he explained the matter to his mother not telling about the fact that she knew and how big this matter really was. Her guilt grew as he kept aside his anger and kept her out of the situation in front of Mummyji. Now all she wanted was one chance to talk to him alone and explain herself properly...
They quickly dropped off Ruhi & his mother home promising their daughter they'll be back soon, he began to drive off to his in-laws' home without a word to her. Not a single glare, not a single words, not even one look at her for the entire long 15 minutes was way too much for her. Hesitantly and worried about his reaction, she placed her hand on top of his that were on the gears only to have him jerk on the handle and brush off her hand.
He was upset and hurt. There was nothing else to describe what he was feeling right now. He was angry at the fact that the one man he could not tolerate was going out with his sister-in-law and his own wife, the woman he trusts more than anyone else was hiding this very fact from him. The trust he had on her was more than the trust he had ever had on anyone else and he really thought she was the last person who would do this. It was bad enough to see Mihir with Mihika and figuring out that he was the reason Mihika had been behaving so oddly with him, that he had to know Ishita was also a part of this.
She on the other hand, was looking out the window as she tried to hold back her tears knowing she had set herself up for this, but didn't expect him to be so upset that he didn't even want her simple touch on him. Looking out at the rain, she didn't know how to react to anything. She felt guilty for hiding things from him, angry on him and Mihir for not sorting out their problems, and more than anything she was frustrated on the whole situation as she felt like she had to choose between her husband and her sister, which was nothing less than impossible for her...
Her mental ramblings came to a halt when the car stopped in front of her parents' home. She saw Mihir's car already parked and prayed once more that everything won't get too bad. Raman got out, opened her door, and helped her out but walked to the door without waiting for her...
~~~~~~
"Raman, would you liked anything?" Her Amma asked trying to make things seem normal after they finished greeting everyone and Raman royally ignored Mihir.
"No thanks Amma. Actually I'm in a rush. I need to head home to Ruhi soon. She'll get upset without me and Ishita."
They all walked to the living where Appa, Raman and Mihir sat on the couches while Mihika sat on the dining table with Ishita and her Amma. Everyone was quiet seeing Raman's upset mood until Appa finally spoke up...
"Raman, Mihika has told me everything."
"What has she told you?"
"Everything. Raman, they love each other."
"I understand that. But what I want to deal with is the fact that I'm being brought into their relationship."
"Jiju, I'll tell you everything, It's just that we didn't want to hide out relationship especially from you." Mihika spoke up getting Raman's angry glare as he asked.
"Then why did you?"
"We had full plans to tell you and the whole family back in Mumbai. That day Mihir came to your place was the day I introduced him to Akka. That was when Akka and I found out about everything between you and Mihir. And after everything in Mumbai, Mihir didn't think you would approve of our relationship, and all we wanted before revealing this to everyone was your approval."
"Really?! Mihir wanted my approval?"
"Then how could this relationship go any further without the consent of our family?"
"First of all I'm sure you two are such sacrificing people that you would give up your relationship if I didn't agree to it! And who told you even needed my approval?!"
"Raman we wanted Mihika's entire family to be happy with us, and your part of the family."
"Fine, point is you want my approval?"
"That's all we want Jiju, that's all we've ever wanted. And that's why we hid this from you. I wanted Akka to help fix yours and Mihir's relationship before we revealed ours."
"Raman I think they're right. I mean your approval matters to us. I mean we would love to hear your decision." Amma softly spoke to him. Ishita looked at him hoping he could keep his anger aside since her parents were giving so much respect to him and he would give his consent to this relationship.
"Honestly no matter what my equation with Mihir is, I would only have one say in this."
"Raman, before you say anything let me tell you, as much as I respect you and your opinions, this is about my daughter and I hope you will think about her feelings before saying anything." Appa spoke up and then
"Of course. I'm only saying 2 things. First of all Mihika, you love him, don't you?"
"Of course!"
"Mihir...do you love her?" He asked without looking at him.
"More than anything."
"Then you don't need anyone's approval according to me. If your love matters to you that much, then you don't need to worry about what others, I mean anyone at all. And if you really want my say, then..."
"Then what?!" Mihir finally spoke up anxious to know the one he had been wanting to know for days.
"As much as I don't like Mihir or this relationship, I'm not against it. I'm not here to get in the way of anyone's happiness or love."
"Jiju..." Mihika looked at him amazed and with a sense of guilt growing in her.
"Had you told me about you and him the day of that dinner in Mumbai, I would have told you the same thing that day as well. Mihika...if I can let this man into my house because he was your friend and try to respect him, I thought you and anyone who knows me would have known that I could accept this relationship without a doubt for your sake. I would never want take away your love from you."
"I'm so sorry I made such a mess..." He didn't say anything and turned away to face Amma and Appa.
"Amma, Appa I should be going now. It's getting pretty late and Ruhi must be giving Ma a hard time." He took their blessings and quietly headed to the door as Ishita followed quietly knowing that everyone, including herself, had misunderstood him and his intentions.
As she held onto his arm while putting on her sandals, he looked at her for a moment. She saw his hurt in his eyes for a moment before he went back to his angry mood while she simply looked at him in regret of what she had done, and thought of explaining everything to him on the way home..
Their eye lock was broken by Mihika coming to put on her shoes which Raman saw and stopped her in between...
"I think Mihika should stay for a few days. She needs a break from everything. Handing her Ruhi's responsibility won't give her that."
"He's right. Anyways you can't be with Mihir if you're babysitting Ruhi all the time. " Ishita agreed with him as they headed out to go back home...
~~~~~
Getting in their car, she expressed her happiness on his decision back home. She told him about how worried she had been about everyone, but was happy to know he thought the way she had wanted him to. While she raved on about his good decision and talked about how bad she felt hiding things from him but had no choice, he was quiet.
He was listening to everything she was saying, but his teary eyes were only on the road as he thought about her lying to him every time he asked her about Mihika and asked her to talk to her. He remembered her telling him not to stress and her conversation this afternoon about what he thought of Mihika. All the while he only wondered why couldn't she just tell him everything, why didn't she know that he wouldn't keep two people who loved each other apart...
He questioned whether he was not trustworthy enough or whether he had shown so much hate towards Mihir that they had forgotten that he would never want to break a couple apart. He stopped his questioning as he saw their house approaching. He quickly parked the car and walked out without a word to her leaving her surprised, but later in guilt...
All this while she had thought maybe he wasn't upset with her as much when she had tried to explain her situation to him and her happiness over his decision, but she knew now that though he was quiet and didn't react to her words didn't mean he wasn't upset, it just meant he was way too hurt...
