"His rapping was really good in Pyar Karke though!"
Well first off, I don't understand why he's rapping in the first place as judging by the "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" title it is a "singing" contest and not a "rap" contest. It would be nice for you to elaborate on your view that "His rapping was really good" and state reasons for its "goodness." As I watched the video, I couldn't help but find his technique extremely shoddy with regard to syllable stress, clarity of vocals, rhythmic flow, vocal intonations, vocal projection and to make matters worse it failed to convey any kind of emotion. Yet, he performed what could be considered as a very basic rap.

"And he definitely raps better than any other contestant on the show...."
I don't recall all the contestants rapping on the show and so to make this type of remark is a little unfair for all the other contestants.

"I can't imagine Amanat or Raja or Sumedha or Poonam rapping!"
As I have mentioned before, the way one expresses oneself is a personal choice, be it rapping or singing. I am simply emphasizing that what Aneek did was horrendously executed and considering Aneek's ineptness in expressing himself, via rapping, he (who is obviously not trained in the rapping artform to a high standard) should think twice before embarking on a "rap frenzy" in an international setting.

My point is Aneek's talent may not match a lot of rap artists from here(african american accent needed) but obviously it was good enough to be accepted in saregamapa and declared the winner.

In the case of Anik, he is just barely able to perform the very basic element of rapping ie "the ability to rhyme on time".Considering that the previous commenter found one of Anik's rap performances "good" and if as you suggest "that it is acceptable for SRGMP", then it seems, in my opinion, that the standards are dismally low !
