Okay one thing that i always always find irritating in Indian movies and serials is the portrayal of the muslim culture. Not that its anything offensive but its always under researched, but i am glad that PKHJD hasnt been that bad in portraying it like other projects, but still there were some things like preet referring to sharara as a "muslim type" dress 😲😲. Trust me i have never in my entire life seen anyone around me wearing a sharara šŸ˜†

Also one BIG BIG issue is have is that whenever they show anyone offering namaz they show AZAAN in the background, and its totally wrong. Namaz is ALWAYS offered AFTER the azaan, never ever is namaz offered while the azaan is being given. I really hope that they add these detailing to make it look more natural.

Although the namaz scene was well executed, right from the jaye namaz to every posture of namaz, especially the raising of the finger and the proper posture of the hands behind ears - i have witnessed it in very few places. and i guess it happened bcz Iqbal himself i a Muslim so he was able to add that detailing 😳

Its just that such minor things make the serial look more believable 😊

Yeah its annoying how they seem to mesh or misinterpret different cultures in these dramas. I've also noticed how they sometimes have Sikh characters but when they get married its a Hindu marriage being portrayed,
It seems they show whatever is convenient for the production house. They don't seem to be aiming for perfection. Clearly šŸ˜†

Exactly my point, they just tend to follow the stereotypical practices and show it on screen. They badly need to develop a culture of research before portraying a different culture.

Agree with you..😊
I was actually surprised when that day Preet referred it as "Muslim type dress"...i was like what??😲
And though its not that common...but Sharara or Gharara is worn by everyone nowadays..not just Muslims...and has various stylings in that...

Well, I love Shararas...ā¤ļøšŸ˜³

And regarding Namaaz scene, yes its so wrong that many times, surely feels under researched, not only this show...i have seen others too...that Azaan is in background...its just so so Wrong...it just hurts a little to see such small mistakes sometimes

@Fantasia....
Although \I'm not a Muslim I have many Muslim friends and when I saw Ishan/Rizwan yesterday I also noticed the lifting of the finger. And yes my first thought also was that being a Muslim himself all the postures and gestures were bound to be authentic. No one would have had to teach him anything for Namaz.

I was brought up in the Hindu culture therefore and not very versed with Muslim culture and tradition. What all info I have is through my Muslim friends, family, TV, and through reading. I always thought Sharara was a Muslim traditional dress.. Because I remember during our school send off (longtime back šŸ˜†) my friend wore a beautiful sharara and told us this is what they wore on special occasions...but thanks for giving us the correct info!

Agree to you, but it is the case of portraying any language customs in serials in a bad way. Take the recent case of YHM (yeh hain mohabattein), the Tamil culture shown is not upto mark, the language used and also many of the rituals is not the originals.. Have to bear with it I guess.. It does feel odd in the beginning, but we get used to it slowly..
