varun might be ahead of Ranveer, but it is not fair to say he is ahead of DP.

how can one compare an actor and actress anyway in a sexist culture like Bollywood? Can u say SRK> Madhuri in the 90's?

varun is the leading hero of this generation and DP is the leading heroine. Ranveer is extremely popular with a lot of young girls as well, in Delhi - esp. those who are still in shool n college. The elder gen. prefers Varun as he is more polished.

Anyway there is no way Varun is ahead of Deepika based on ONE film's performance. Piku is a film which can easily fall into arty category and non-mainstream. Still it garnered 80 crores only becasue of DP.Varun made Badlapur work and DP made Piku work.

When you take out SRK_KAJOL pair from DILWALE you left nothing, can VARUN make a movie with
this scale work I have my doubt 😉
SRK_KAJOL pair IS the big deal for BM team not VARUN

I don't like Varun, but he is indisputably ahead of all the other young actors, including Ranbir, when it comes to popularity and box office pull. On that basis, yes, he would help bring people to cinemas when Dilwale releases, not just Kajol or Shah Rukh.
