The Final Episode
Manav: Thank you your honor. The Prosecution calls… Mr. Vansh Rao!
Everyone is quite shocked and doesn't know what to expect. They all turn to the door of the courtroom and Vansh walks in alive and well.
Poornima: How the hell is this possible?
Vansh gets into the witness box.
Vansh: Your honor, today I would like to tell this court a story that is over twenty years old. But it needs to be told because the guilty people need to be punished.
Judge: Go ahead but before you proceed Mr. Rao, this court is very confused. This case has been filed in lieu of your murder and now we find you are alive!
Vansh: I will explain everything your honor.
Vansh starts at the beginning and tells the court about what happened to his mother and how she was framed for Shlok Singhania's murder. He then goes on to tell the court how he posed off as Anirudh Nanda to get to the bottom of things and how he made Vidhya Chopra run insane, how he framed Gupta for rape and how he had Charith Patel thrown out of his own home. He then also reveals how he stole everything from the Singhania family and now owns their company but claims that he wants none of it as long as the wrong doers are punished. He then goes on to tell the court how he found that Poornima had turned his game on him and freed all her friends from the perils he had put them in.
Judge: But Mr. Rao, you become a wrongdoer yourself for the things you've done to these people.
Vansh: I know your honor but my mother suffered for twenty years for a crime she did not commit while these people enjoyed a free life. Tell me now, where's the justice in that? I know that I did something wrong but they're fine today aren't they? Vidhya Chopra is no longer in an asylum, Kedarnath Gupta is out of jail and Charith Patel is back home with his family.
Judge: I see your point but this still doesn't explain your murder and how you are alive.
Vansh: This was the ultimate plan to get Poornima and the others to confess to their crime. But none of this wouldn't have been possible had Poornima Singhania not decided to kill me.
Poornima: WHAT?
Judge: Silence. Continue Mr. Rao.
Vansh: Your honor, my sister Nithika had gone over to Vidhya Chopra's house to talk some sense into Poornima ji when she overheard her telling Vidhya ji that she wanted to kill me. So we hatched a plan.
Flashback…
Nithika: She wants to kill you Vansh, we have to do something now!
Devyani: We have to and we can.
Vansh: What do you mean Badi Ma?
Devyani: If Poornima wants to kill you then all we need to do is give her an opportunity to do just that.
Nithika: What are you talking about?
Devyani: We need to make Poornima believe that there is something detrimental out there that can destroy her and her precious friends once and for all and that's how we push her to kill you. The thing is, she'll think she's killed you but in reality you'll be alive and we will be able to build up a case against her and the rest of them.
End Flashback
Vansh: And that's how we planned the trip to Goa. I knew that Poornima was following me all the time and we let her do it throughout the entire journey in Goa until she walked into our house and pointed a gun at me. She stole the envelope, which she believed had evidence against her and she shot me so she can have it. What we wanted to do was very simple, we wanted her to admit in court to what she had done to my mother all those years back and she just did that! Here they your honor, the people who killed Shlok Singhania and framed Anuradha Rao for it when in reality she just went over there to speak to him.
The entire court was in shock.
Poornima watched in horror as the judge seemed to take in everything that was being said.
Judge: After carefully analyzing all proof that the court has received with regard to this case. This court finds Mrs. Poornima Singhania not guilty on the account of murdering Mr. Vansh Rao, for obvious reasons… However, on account of the wrongful imprisonment of Mrs. Anuradha Rao, this court finds Mrs. Poornima and her accomplices guilty and orders an arrest on Mr.& Mrs. Sidharth and Poornima Singhania, Mr. Kedarnath Gupta, Mr. Charith Patel and Mrs. Vidhya Chopra Singhania. The court also finds Mr. Vansh Rao guilty on the account of conspiring and abating against the afore mentioned individuals but given the grave truth of this case, pardons his actions. Furthermore the court also finds Mrs. Devyani Seth guilty of the murder of Mr. Shlok Singhania but considering her previous time spent in jail and the fact that she acted as a hired gun, the court grants her pardon as well. This ends this session of the court.
The nightmare had finally ended.
A month later Vansh and Tariksha were finally married. And it was on the night they returned to Bangalore from Goa that Devyani said good bye to them.
Tariksha: But why mom?
Devyani: I've been fighting this battle for too long and I really need a break now. I have full faith in the two of you and what you're capable of and I know that you will keep our company running well intact. There's an old friend of mine that's been wanting to catch up with me and the two of us have decided to take a break and head over to Paris. I'll come visit soon but for now I have to go.
Vansh: I'm going to miss you Badi Ma.
Devyani: And I will miss you too. But take good care of my daughter and if you should ever need me, I'm just a phone call away ok?
Vansh: Ok.
Devyani bid her final goodbye and walked outside where her car drove her to the airport.
Once at the airport she checked in made a few quick calls and boarded her flight. When she got to her seat, her friend Sharmila Choudary was already waiting for her.
Devyani: You got here in ample time didn't you? Sorry I took so long but I had a few things to take care of.
Sharmila: Oh it's alright. It's not like I had anyone to say goodbye to so I checked in early.
Devyani: Oh don't say that. You know you have loads of people who care for you a lot.
Sharmila: That may have been true a long time ago Devyani but not anymore.
Devyani: I'm so glad things turned out the way they did.
Sharmila: I know. But some sacrifices need to be made in order for us to live a good life.
Devyani: And make sure that our children live a good life too.
The plane was about to take off. The flight crew had strapped in and they were now down the runway.
Sharmila: You're right. Sometimes people realize their mistakes before it's too late…
At the Patel House
Kaveri: I'm so sorry for everything that ever happened. I know now that I was wrong. Please forgive me.
Manav: Of course we forgive you mama. We just couldn't handle that you were supporting dad even when you know everything he had done was so wrong.
Nithika: But from now on everything will be fine.
Dharm: I'm just glad that we can get along as one big happy family again.
Bindiya: And celebrate some news while we're at it.
Kaveri: What news?
Nithika: I'm pregnant!
Back on the plane
Devyani: Yes, but sometimes, people don't realize they're wrong no matter how hard a lesson you try to teach them.
In Jail
Poornima: Why was I so stupid! I should never have followed them to Goa! Those idiots ruined me!!!
On the Plane
Sharmila: It's sad that some people never get what they want…
In Australia
Soham: So you decided to come back home huh?
Shastra: It's not like I had anything worthwhile to wait around for in India now is there?
On the Plane
Devyani: Yes but some people get exactly what they deserve!
In Jail
Gupta: I knew we shouldn't have done this! Now we're going to suffer here for the rest of our lives.
Charith: Oh for goodness sakes will you shut up!
Devyani: It's funny when you think of it how sometimes a certain Vansh Rao needs to become an Anirudh Nanda to make life miserable for other people just to get some justice.
Vansh and Tariksha's Home
Tariksha: Are you happy?
Vansh: I was always happy.
Tariksha: Shut up Vansh. Honestly are you happy?
Vansh: Honestly, now, I am.
On the Plane
Sharmila: True. And sometimes, in order to lead a better life away from everything that is evil, a certain Anuradha Rao needs to become a Sharmila Choudary.
Devyani: Precisely.
