CHAPTER 12

"Mama, i have closed all the windows"

"Yes mama, Its raining outside so i said Palak to close and i helped her also"

As the serious conversation got a break, Yash decided not to defend himself again and Aarti was in mental trauma listing him and the events of that night was making her feel miserable at that time both had to stop their thinking listing the voice of the girls.

Aarti's eyes were stuck on them, her look was strange enough to make Payel embarrassed, she just called her maa. It was a mistake, but its a truth of her heart also. Looking at Aarti she asked, "Can i call you Maa, Aarti aunty??"

Her question was innocent, so innocent. The way she asked no one can say no to her but Aarti said.

"Nooo..."

Making Payel scared Aarti's eyes also got wet. She didn't want to make her sad but she didn't want the things to go forward which is happening unwillingly.. Aarti understood their hopes crossing the boundaries and if it will not stop now then can be difficult in near future.

"How can that be possible Payel? You can call me aunty only and i am mother of Palak only not yours." Aarti tried to be soft. She knew her words hurt her so much. But at that moment she couldn't find anything to say, she wanted to bring a distance between her and Payel so that she will stop living in such false hopes.

Payel was about to say something but Yash stopped her, "Payel lets go back to home. Its getting so late. We didn't say in home that where we are, so lets start now."

He went ahead and held her hand., "Good night Palak."

Payel didn't say anything. Yash knew she become upset, and at that time there was nothing to do.

"How you will go? Its raining outside." It was Aarti.

"We have car. We can go. You shouldn't worry about us" He replied, different, his voice was different. There was a pain.

He didn't care much how rudely Aarti talked to him. Yes that hurt him but somehow he was ready for that kind of reaction from her because reason was him. But today Aarti talked rudely with Payel, he couldn't digest the thing. It hurt him more. There was no fault of Payel but still...

They left from there. Aarti kept looking at outside till they reached to car. She saw they got wet a little. But she was worried for that. "I am sorry Payel," she whispered to herself.

Payel was sad. She started loving Aarti more than any other thing thats why it hurt her more. on the way Yash couldn't strike a good conversation with Payel to cheer her up because he find himself main responsible for whatever happening now.

The door opened of their house, and the smiling face he saw after month and forgot all his worries and the same happened to Payel. She almost jumped on the lap of Maya, "Bua dadi, when did you come?"

Maya take her in her arms hugging her, "I just was waiting for you from such a long time. How are you my little princess?"

"I am too good dadi. I missed you so much you know!!" Payel exclaimed.

"But you didn't call me since last one week, that's why i come to give you a surprise."

"Thank you so much. Dadi, i want the coconut laddu you make. You will make for me na?"

"I already have brought for you, it is box full. Go to kitchen. Pari chachi will give you." Maya said pressing her cheeks.

Payel ran from there towards kitchen placing a thank you kiss.

"she really love those sweets that's why i bring much this time", Maya said looking at Yash.

Yash's face hinted her something, "Yash, what happened?"

"Bua ji" in no time he hugged her tightly, "Thank you so much for coming."

Maya was worried, she know his reactions, "Yash, are you all right?" She asked rubbing his back softly.

"I so needed you bua ji, your support." He said with his heavy voice, "Please say me Yash, What happened son?"

Yash broke the hug and looked at her, "Bua ji, Aarti..."

"Yes, Aarti.. What?", Maya didn't get as she was thinking it is Aarti, but Palak's mother.

Yash: I have found her bua ji, after years. She is here in Bhopal.

And the fact become clear to Maya only now, And the surprise stunned her, "Is Palak's mother is that same Aarti.??"

As Yash nodded in Yes Maya's eyes sparked in happiness, "Thats such a great thing Yash. Finally you got her again."

"I never got her bua ji. When time was there destiny wanted to give her to me but i was fool enough to miss a gem and now i don't deserve to get her."Yash said looking down.

Maya put her hand on his head, "I know dear you did wrong. But You get the punishment of your part, If you saying Destiny gave you chance once then destiny giving you chance again to correct everything."

Yash: May be, but she is not ready to give me another chance.

Maya: Did you talk to her? What she said?

"Yes i did. But now i understood by doing this i am giving her pain again. By forcing her to listen me i cant get back the trust which i broke brutally. So i decided i'll not talk to her about it even will not go in front of her till she herself will want me to do that."

Only Maya was the witness of Yash's situation in Past, She knew how much he remorse for whatever he did. She know he was in fault but she can't see him in pain again now, "You dont worry Yash, i'll talk to Aarti. Everything will be fine"

Yash become excited in her words, "No bua ji, please no. Please you don't try to do anything. Still my image is so bad to her. I don't want her to misunderstand you also for supporting me. And all these past talks hurting her only, i don't want that. Please let it be. I know if i am honest from my side now then she will definitely understand and i can wait for that."

Maya: Okay. As your wish. I'll not interfere in this. But i can meet her at least. I also had some relation with her. A relation of friendship, humanity, love. Now you go and change, your dress is wet for the rain. I am waiting in dinning table for dinner"

Yash nodded and went. Maya saw him going. "How different this Yash is from the Yash 10 years back. How sensitive he is now. The girl, Aarti how changed him totally even in absence of her also,, No Yash i can't let you suffer more with your guilt. I know it was your fault but now its enough."

She went to kitchen where Paridhi was working., "Pari, can you please take me to Aarti's place?"Asked Maya.

"Yes, sure. Why not? I said you i want you to meet her."

"so lets go tomorrow morning. Its very urgent to meet her as soon as possible"

"at morning it will be difficult, that is school time of children and after that Aarti's work time, so it will not be possible before evening. But why you are in so hurry bua ji?" Pari asked with surprise.

Maya took a deep breath then said, "Paridhi, i don't want to hide anything from you, but at this moment i can't say you anything also. Just think that i just want everything to be good. So please don't ask me reason. You will come to know when time will permit."

Paridhi was a bit confused about this but then said, "Of course bua ji. I know you want our well being only. Don't worry from my side. I'll completely help you however you will want."

"Thanks dear. And another thing please don't say about it to Yash or Payel."

"Mamma. Pari chachi is here." Palak informed Aarti who was inside and Palak come to open door listening the door bell.

Aarti rushed out to hear Palak. After that day she didn't meet to Paridhi, she somehow was feeling bad for her behavior. And today Paridhi come in her place, she felt happy. Her step froze on her way. "Bua ji..." She whispered. Her eyes become teary seeing maya in front of her.

After 10 long years. She is the same. The caring look, the loving smile just looking a little older than the last meet.

"will you not ask us to come in Aarti?"Maya asked making Aarti come to her sense.

Aarti ran to her and hugged her, "Bua ji, i am so happy to see you again."

"Me too dear", Maya said her placing her hand on her back.

Paridhi was shocked to see Aarti's reaction, she thought she will introduce bua ji with Aarti but here they are hugging like they are meeting after years, "What's happening here may i know? Do you know each other?"

Maya: Yes. You caught it right. I know her. I know her very well.

"Oh my god. Really? How exciting this is. " Pari exclaimed her happiness.

"Please come in Bua ji." Aarti invited her wiping own tears.

"Is this your daughter Aarti?" Maya asked looking at Palak.

she didnt wait for Aarti's answer as she understood she guessed that right. She knelt in front of Palak, "You are really so sweet Palak, just like your mother!"

"Thank you dadi. Payel said me about you. Do you know my mama?"

"Yes. Does she still talk to herself when she is angry?"

"Yes yes. She do like that" Palak felt like she got a company to discuss about her mothers every fault and can complain too.

Maya looked at Aarti, "Aarti, i feel like Palak's smile is so familiar to me, its not like you. May be i saw any other kid like this. Sometime kids look alike."

Maya smiled but her sentence gave Aarti a shock of current and she immediately divert the topic to another thing, "Bua ji, you still remember the thing that i used to talk to myself?"

"Yes Aarti i still remember everything of you but you forgot me so easily that didn't feel its necessary to inform me before going away?"Maya asked with a pain in her eyes.

Paridhi wanted to know about what bua ji talking, how they both know each other but when Maya signaled her something she take Palak with her inside with some excuse as she knew that bua ji wanted to talk to Aarti alone.

"Bua ji, you please sit, i'll bring tea and snacks for you." Aarti wanted to leave but Maya held her hand, "Aarti, you also sit with me, i dont want tea than i prefer to talk to you. Don't you want to talk to me when we are meeting after 10 years? Or Do you really forget me?

Aarti pressed Maya's hand in her, "No bua ji, please don't think like that . I was not in my sense then when i decided to leave. Please forgive me."

Maya made Aarti sit with her, "Aarti, do you know through what we went to see you missing? Couldn't you trust me also?"

Aarti looked at her, trying to read if she know everything. "I am sorry bua ji. Situation didn't allow me to trust anyone or think further."

"May be i can't understand what happened that you left suddenly but you could inform me at least. We didn't even know that you are alive or ..." Her voice choked in between thinking about the past.

Aarti looked surprised, "What do you mean bua ji? Alive or what means?"

"Do you really want to know Aarti?" Maya asked as she heard from Yash that she refused to listen him every time.

it will be wrong if Aarti will say she dont want to know, she refused to listen Yash but there is another reason but she want to know from bua ji, "Yes bua ji. I want to."

Maya smiled at her reply, "At least now she will know something" she said to herself and start saying.

2DAYS LATTER AFTER THAT NIGHT

I reached to home tired after the travel and got the house empty thought You are as usual at your work.. And got busy in my work. And after sometime heard a bang on door, when I opened the door it was Yash. His ruffled hair, swollen eyes indicated me something wrong

"Bua ji, where is Aarti?" He asked in one breath.

"Aarti is not in home. It is her work time so she must be in radio station." i replied.

"No, bua ji, she is not there. I went.", he rushed inside towards your room.. "Aarti, Aarti.." He started to shout your name and looking here and there, i went behind him trying to catch what happened, "What happened Yash? Aarti is not here. She must went for any important work. Didn't she inform you?"

"No bua ji, no. How she will inform me? You know i went to find her at radio station first thinking she is there at this time but they said she is not going there since last two days and she is not here too." His voice trembled making me also afraid.

"what do you mean Yash? Didn't you come here or meet her from last two days?" I asked him

but he didn't replied, instead pick up some thing from the floor, that was your dress i think, "She was in this dress on that night",, He mumbled. And then said, "Her everything is here, but where is she? Now where i'll find her?" He sat down holding his head, i was becoming confused. Couldn't understand what to do.

Suddenly he pick up a curled paper from the floor and opened that. I don't know what was that but his expression changed in anger he threw that away and then left from there. I kept asking where he is going but he didn't reply.. I become more tensed. Now it's not only for you for Yash also.

After 2 hours of continue ringing finally he pick the phone, "Did you get any information about Aarti?" i asked.

"No bua ji, i come to her hostel where she used to stay before but they also don't know anything."

"Come back to home Yash." I said but he was not at all ready. Then Ordered him, threatened him then only he agreed.

He returned after a while, "Bua ji, her friend Sree's parents stays in Bangalore, she must went there. I have to go there, find her anyhow."

"Yash, will you say me what happened exactly?" i asked.

He didn't reply, kept quite, looking down

"Don't keep quite Yash like a looser, what you did with Aarti?"

when he looked at me i threw the curled paper on his face, "What is this? Answer me."

He looked at me strange and then at the paper, His eyes become wet, though i was not believing on his tears, "I am the culprit bua ji. For me we don't know where she is now. I just crossed all the limits"

i went ahead and slapped him hard, "Chhi Yash. I cant believe it. How could you play with a girl's dignity for a cheap bet? Is this like you love your Arpita?"

"I didn't do anything for the bet, trust me. Yes it started with a plan but i had no intension to hurt Aarti in any cost." He said but i was really not in mood to listen him.

"You know, i am now just repenting that i started to think that Aarti will be perfect for your life, even i know she started liking you, still i didn't stop her knowing that you will never change, but i never ever thought that you will go to this low."

at that time his phone rang. I didn't care. I decided i'll go to his parents and will say everything, if its important then will take help of Police to find you but i suddenly heard a sound. Yash dropped himself on sofa, he was shaking. Many things can happen but i knew his some reactions.. I got worried, "What happened Yash? Is that about Aarti? Who called you?"

"Aarti's Colleague called accident occurred on the way from delhi to bangalore. Many people died. There is two girl named Aarti."
