Yes! Mandy was the first one to approach the captains and he was definitely sure that she wanted a change.

That actually got to his ego and so, he also asked for a change. But, when Mandy reassured him and basically said 'don't be stupid', I could see the relief wash over him. It was like, thank god, she wants to be with me, so that we can continue with our drama and get footage.

If there was a way to know for sure that that indeed was her intent then hell yeah.I'd be mighty mighty impressed.She'd be the shrewdest contestant by far.

But there's a very real chance that it was just random.
