Amit urges fans to remain united

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Brand Ambassador for Peace, Communal Harmony and Excellence Amit Paul has called upon the people of the State to remain steadfast in their unity and solidarity so that Meghalaya could emerge as a peaceful and progressive State.
He was responding to a felicitation ceremony on Monday at Rilbong organised by Ardhendu Chaudhuri Charitable Trust (ACCT). Amit was presented with a cash of Rs 1,00,100. The parents and grandmother of Amit were also felicitated on the occasion.
Amit also expressed his deep gratitude for the love and support given by the people of Rilbong in particular and the State in general during his journey to Indian Idol contest.
He further called upon the people of the State to continue their
support to other promising youth in other fields like sports and education.
Amit lauded Mawprem MLA Manas Chaudhuri for coming forward to garner support for him throughout the Indian Idol contest.
Amit interacted with his fans and supporters that gathered at the ground near the Rilbong Community Hall braving inclement weather.
He also sang some of the numbers requested by his fans including Bheege Hoton Tere, Ya Ali, Pehla Nasha, besides singing a Khasi and a few Bengali numbers.
Meanwhile, at Mawlai Amit was received by a huge crowd that gathered at Mawlai Madan Heh. He was felicitated on the occasion. He also rendered a few popular songs at Mawlai.
Amit will perform at Jrisalein Playground in Jowai on Tuesday. The programme is being organized by Saralyne Sports, Social and
and Cultural Club, Jowai in collaboration with the district administration.
