Nice post Falaq. The thing with Suju is she is consistent in her blind prejudices She really likes Swara now but she still can't see or doesn't want to really, how much her son needs this and so she is sort of hoping that this can be put behind them and then she can get away without a bengali bahu. I think the CVs have missed a trick with Suju to be honest. They should really turn her into hardcore SwaSan shipper and make her support them, it would be so much better than this.
I'm beginning to wonder if she did this not because of her prejudices but for the first time to sincerely get her son out of this mess. Sanskaar was very clear that he didn't want this marriage to happen and that Swara had turned him down. She may not want to see her son suffering and feeling suffocated in a loveless marriage. She knows it's killing him and I'd honestly say if he knows what's good for him he should let her go.
If in future she does fall in love and genuinely want to be with him for good, then they should remarry with the right intention and spirit. I do not condone a forced marriage turning into a happily after one in the way it is depicted in TV shows. It gives people the message that it's fine if you're forced into marriage because as a couple you will fall in love eventually and all will be well. That isn't how it works in real life and I'm not even talking about whether or not the spouses are of good character. That is irrelevant here because the concept of marrying under duress in any form is abhorrent and unacceptable to me.So maybe Sujata's aim is really to spare her son further heartache because he's better off living apart from Swara than being bound to her with no happiness in sight (let's not get into the gamble of whether or not she will fall for him). Maybe she really does have his best interests at heart or maybe I'm being over optimistic in an attempt to make sense of the craziness in the show right now.
Sujata Sujata...oh dear...
Irritation apart, am actually glad that it was sujata who proposed the divorce...its still better than the great goddess Swara Initiating the divorce...pheww...at least the greatness reincarnate spared me this heart burn which am sure I will be getting in truck loads in coming episodes...and sujata just cannot over come this massive prejudice she has with Bengalis...n it will certainly take time to go and if she stops her bengalan jaap she won't be the same suju I guess ( pun intended š)...but definitely in near future when she will see her own son disintegrating in front of her eyes, due to her insane obstinacy she would step back and I am hoping against hope that it would be again sujata who will deal with swara in the language the saint understands, making her see how hypocrite and selfish she is and using sanskaar to achieve her means š”...(obviously with no help for sanskaar)
