Azaad steps up for his love 06.10.2015

Today I was surprised that it didn't take that much for Azaad to say he wanted to marry Mahira.

And then I reflected on his character and felt that it was right. It didn't take trickery or black magic (on him) for him to come to that decision.

I actually found Azaad agreeing to the marriage believable.

Let's not forget he loves Mahira very much to the point he was wanting her to leave him to protect her.

Unfortunately she got trapped in his mother's evil plans. She had no choice but to say yes to Amaad

Now Azaad is stuck. How can he see the woman he loves so much be treated that way, that too by his brother. He tries to talk sense to Mahira to not say yes to the marriage. He even apologises for treating her bad and begs her not to punish herself instead. But she is adamant on marrying. He does not know why though. But when he closes his eyes, he can hear her scream for him to help her, like she is trapped somehow. I think the last scene of his brother nearly raping her is probably what broke him.

He has to stop this marriage of Amaad to Mahira at all cost because he knows that Mahira does not love Amaad and Amaad is only marrying her to hurt him.

So he wants the marriage of Amaad to Mahira to stop.
The house is busy with marriage preparation and ceremony.
So the only way now to save his beloved is for him to step up. Afterall he does love her and she loves him. So he then says finally that if all the signs point that God wants me to marry her, he is going to stop running. For his love and her safety, he will marry her!

Nice analysis and I agree with what you said. Azad tried everything to stop this disastrous Nikah. He tried to convince her, apologized for his harsh words, asked her to not punish herself for his mistakes. Yet Mahira remained adamant on her decision, even threatened to kill herself if he kept interfering in her matters. So Azad had no choice but to let the charade continue. But Amaads rape attempt changed everything. Azad didn't want to marry Mahira as he thought himself to be a monster unfit for Mahira. But today Amaad showed that he is a worse monster than Azad. Mahiras reactions to Amaad convinced him that she does not love him and yet is going through the nikah. So he realized that there is no security, no love and no happiness for Mahira in this marriage only pain. Even though he himself can't give happiness to Mahira(or so he thinks), at least he would never harm or injure her intentionally. So better a known devil than an unknown one...And so he himself stepped up for this marriage.

I'm actually liking the way Azaad's character is slowly developing though I hope Mahira does not remain angry at him for long. I'm also hoping he doesn't become a completely love sick puppy that gives in to her antics all the time and actually fights back a bit to make their interaction more interesting - like it was in the past between him and the old Mahira.

And you are spot on - he won't hurt her intentionally! And he will give her the security. In his own way, he will love and protect her. He may love her covertly but he is always willing to protect her irrespective of what the situation is.

You know what I would like both Azad and Mahira to get their fire back once this marriage tamasha and its subsequent shock get over. Enough of Azad being in Devdas mode and enough of Mahira sulking over those words. I would accept their bickering, fights, arguments, anything over this.

I would so like to see the same. Don't want the Devdas mode and her crying. Love the way they used to argue and would like to see that. The way they use to question each other though would still be there for each other in their own way. I really want to see that soon!

But I have a feeling Devdas mode is going to stay for a while. Mahira is going to be angry with him for marrying her and not telling her and he is going to feel guilty and tolerate her behaviour. I'm hoping that Mahira is intelligent to figure out that he loves her and only did so to protect her. Than she needs to be angry at him for not standing up for his love earlier and their nok-jok starts. Mr Darinda this and that and he should have a name for her too!
