In a fight between Sambar, the king ofVaijayantipuri and Divodas, Sambar asks Ravan's help and Divodes asked for Dasharath's help.Dasharath took part in this battle along with his youngest and brave wife Kaikai. Ravan supported Sambar not to help him but with a plan that if he could defeat Divodas then he would be able to capture his territory and expand his own kingdom. After Sambar's death,Ravan gives leadership to his army .He has a one to one fight with Dasharath ,in which battle,Ravan injures Dasharath very badly . Ravan also insults Kaikai. As such , Kaikai takes an oath that she would take revenge. She makes a plan with saint Vashist and decides to give training to Ram and Lakhman and prepare them to fight against Ravan and destroy him.

After defeating Sambar, Ravan takes the leadership of Sambar's army and assures all his soldiers that he will protect them and in this way wins their trust and annexes Sambar's territory.Next he decides to conquer Gandharva desh .To do so,Ravan goes to Gandharva king Mitravasu's palace and develops a love relationship with his daughter Chitrangada.She falls so madly in love with Ravan that she herself proposes to Ravan and tells her father that she will marry only Ravan and no one one else.On the other side Kaikai asks Vishwamitra to give training to Ram.And asks him to get the permission to do so from Dasharath. After a lot of convincing, Vishwamitra agrees to help her in this regard.

As Raavan and Chitrangada wed, Mandodari goes into labour. Maarich, with the help of a midwife, kidnaps Mandodari's newly delivered female infant. He kills the midwife but is overcome by guilt and spares the life of the baby, leaving her in a vessel at the borders of May-lok. Maarich reports back to Raavan that he successfully killed the infant. His task accomplished, Raavan proceeds to kill Maarich but spares him, on the latter's pleading. Kaikeyi sensing Dasharath's weakness pleads with Sage Vishwamitra to train the princes for the protection of Aryan culture.

Vishwamitra arrives in Ayodhya and asks Dasharath to send Ram and Lakshman with him to protect the Ashrams from Rakshas tyranny. When Dasrath refuses, then Vishwamitra, on Kaikeyi's suggestion, vows to starve himself to death unless the princes accompany him. A disheartened Dasharath is consoled by Vasisht, and later Ram and Lakshman reassure their father and decide to go with Vishwamitra.. Raavan commands Khar, Dushan, Maarich and Subahu to torment the Rishis by capturing their daughters. He also instructs them to preach his writings, the Krishna Yajur Ved. Seeing Raavan's atrocities, a concerned Parvati asks Shiva to cull his pride. Shiva reassures her that his form of Hanuman will accomplish this. Shiva, disguised as a madaari then takes Hanuman to the court of Ayodhya, where he entertains the royal family. Shiva then leaves Hanuman behind at Ayodhya in the service of Ram.

Episode 44 (5 Oct 2007)

Raavan arrives in May-lok and reconciles with Mandodari, who is upset by his second marriage. In Ayodhya, Ram and Lakshman bid farewell to their parents and leave with Vishwamitra. Raavan's uncles, on hearing this, are amused that Ayodhya trains little princes to take on the mighty Raavan. Mirtavasu informs Raavan that Sahastra Arjun remains an obstacle to Raksh culture. Raavan resolves to attack Madhya-desh, but is upset when his uncles gather an army for the war. Raavan, feeling challenged that his uncles have little faith in his might, dismisses the army and decides the take on Sahastra Arjun single-handed and without military backup. Entering Mahishmati (the capital of Madhya-desh) Raavan and his uncles disguised as pilgrims seek an audience with Sahastra Arjun. When the palace guards refuse, Raavan's threat to commit suicide finally gets him into Sahastra Arjun's chambers where the latter is frolicking in his bath with maid-servants. Sahastra Arjun pulls off Raavan's disguise and recognizes him, at which Raavan challenges him to a dual. A one-on-one combat follows which sees Raavan being defeated and dragged away in chains
