What prompted you to take up this role?
Here's a guy who is suave and dapper, with an IQ that can give even the most intelligent and shrewd criminal a run for his money. He can do things that very few can - read people's minds and use deductive reasoning. I haven't played such a character or taken up a crime series like this before. Besides, the premise of the show was unique and I couldn't let it go.

Deducing is your forte in the series... tell us more.
Agent Raghav's father was a hypnotherapist and psychiatrist from whom he picked up the tricks as a kid. Raghav has a razor-sharp mind that is quick at analysing and using rationale and logic, which is what deduction is all about. So, in the show, he reaches a logical conclusion about people and situations by applying the same theory while solving complex crimes.
How have you prepared for this role?
I've had to work on a lot of things. I needed to be fitter and more agile, because a languid guy cannot make an officer. So I toned up and have lost over 7kg since my last show. I have a few friends in the police force and have taken cues from them on how they react to situations. Apart from this, I have been reading books and have got some useful tips on how to read body language and analyse people.
Have you tried reading the minds of your family or friends?
Yes, I have been trying this at home and I'm now able to read my wife Keerti's mind well. Also, I have become a bit more observant of people's behaviour. I have learnt how mind readers manage to keep a calm face and read the mind, even before one says hello!
