As far as the case is concerned, I am not sure if Ananya understood RG's veiled threat or she just dismissed it (I would not be surprised). I am saying this because we see Ronnie is injured which means that Ananya goes ahead with her investigation and helpless Kabir sends Ronnie with her and hence the incident. I think its only after this incident that Ananya realizes the danger she is in and the predicament that Kabir was in 8 years ago. May be may be... I see them reconciling only after this or atleast working professionally only after Ronnie's accident.

Well, I dont think that Kabir will distance himself from Ananya.. the reasons can be many such as :

1. Its too late now for such step.

2. If Kabir had this in mind, he would have never told Shreya openly about his love for Ananya

3. Kabir didnt react to Ananya even when she lashed him in front of whole KKN, at that time, RG was already in the scene, then.

4. Everything is made known to the entire KKN including Khalid who is genuinely helping Kabir in his every move, So now, Kabir doesnt really has to do all this.

5. Most importantly whatever Kabir does now, RG is already acquainted with his love for Ananya and even Kabir has confessed it in front of him. So no point of pretending now.

6. If Kabir wants to do this, based on the spoilers, his brother Rajveer will come with a parcel which he and Rajveer will give to Ananya at his place. Why will he call Rajveer all the way if he wants to break the engagement and the parcel has nothing but the ring?

7. Most importantly, if Kabir wants to show that he is distancing himself from Ananya, why will he along with his brother, go to her place. In order to show everyone, Kabir will definitely return the ring in front of the whole KKN giving them the clear message that now even he is not interested.

So considering the above points, Kabir distancing himself is a slim possibility at the moment.
