Thank you, Beena😊

I so agree with every word of your post. Trisha needs to be doing something, either taking charge or deducting a valuable piece of evidence.

The Rajbeer-Raghav friendship is nice, and so is his chess game with Bikram😊

I think the murderer wanted to make it look like a suicide note, and that page alone fit. If they had discovered the other pages, no doubt it'd have revealed the affair. But it'd also revealed that it ain't a suicide note but an autobiography.

Horribly written autobiography with horrible spellings- bahut, kyonki- many words spelled wrong😆

Thank you so much yaar 😊
I agree.Raghav's bonding with each person in the team is nice.

Now I get it..that's why he hid those pages.

I agree with you,it was so horribly written. And who writes an autobiography in such a handwriting and in such a manner.

They just replicated the traits for each character, not a change anywhere. I saw the Rajbeer-Gauri romance coming from the first episode itself!

I mean, they got Jason Tham to play an Asian character, just like Cho was Korean. That was... Where is the ingenuity?

Lisbon did have some control over him, and she did do some stuff on her own. But I think the character deserved much better. We all know that Jane is the brilliant one who uses his mentalism to see what can't be seen by others. But that doesn't mean the others are inept...their police training must have certainly armed them for some things, I mean.

I do think that they need to buck up with the team dynamic, if not, the others will seem like props while Raghav does all the work...fingers crossed!

They should've shown the husband as being investigated more, at least. The spouse is always the first suspect.

What I like here is that at least they chose not to replicate the story. From what it seems Raghav's past is related to his childhood.

The other issue I have is the non-development of the characters. From day 1 you could see who Van Pelt was, who Rigsby was, who Cho was, who Lisbon was, and so on. But there's nothing like that here. I'm still confused as to how they said in the launch that Bikram would be an arms expert. Nothing like that has appeared so far. Rajbir appears to be confused between being a stakeout cop to being a listen-to-instructions cop. He has no defined character. Plus his sudden concern for Gauri was overdone yesterday. Something more subtle would have been so much better. Trisha is stuck somewhere between being rule-abiding CBI officer and lenient-to-Raghav friend. Her character needs to be better developed as well. Of everyone the only 2 really well-defined characters are those of Gauri and Raghav. Gauri is obviously the tech expert. They all turn to her for anything tech. And Raghav is well Jane just Indianized - he's less arrogant, more flirtatious, abides to the rules a bit more, seems to be haunted when he's either in enclosed spaces or unaware of his surroundings, and the same perception as Sherlocks and Jane combined.

I loved the team dynamic in the Mentalist simply because they had those regular moments during cases. Rigsby and Cho forever betting with Jane and losing or Cho's dry humour at Rigsby. I still remember a scene from season 1 when Rigsby and Cho were going after some teen at a camp and Rigsby said he had it and he went for a tackle fly that left them both in the water. Cho simply said "nice" in such a dry way that it got me laughing. I look for that here as well, but so far it's missing. There isn't that ease of friendship between Raghav-Bikram-Rajbir yet. Bikram and Raghav maybe and Rajbir and Raghav maybe, but not all 3 together.

Here's another thing. I mentioned it in my other topic as well. They spend almost a third of the time developing the case or showing the casual relationship between the officers, then a third in how Raghav solved the case and catching the perp, which leaves only a third of the time for the actual investigation. My issue is how are they going to get anything other than Raghav showing off his skills in this third of the time? They need to spend less time developing the case. Again, drawing parallels, but in the Mentalist they always started almost right away with the crime and through the investigation showed the required things, like relationships or what Jane saw or other such things. They never spent 10 minutes developing the case and then rushing through the investigation. I would like if the CVs spent some more time on that.

Oh yeah, at least they didn't go with the Red John story line. Small mercies.

The characterization is haywire as you pointed out. Let's face it, the others have nothing to do. And that walk of triumph at the end while the others look on in admiration- that makes me cringe.

I would say that even Raghav is not delineated properly. He doesn't seem to be breaking that many rules, I guess. They should endow him with more charisma and show his rebellious traits at some point.

Today's episode had some good Rajbir-Bikram scenes. I am thankful for that.

I completely agree- no need to show how the victim spent his/her last moments. It's a character we aren't going to empathize with. Spend your time wisely on the protagonists, and develop their traits through various situations and scenes.

Very small mercies. I have full expectations that they would easily have bungled the Red John storyline by trying to make it desi as well to show something different.

Absolutely. It's always about him. He's supposed to be part of a team, not his own team.

The thing is that they seem to be showing him in understanding with the team. Whatever he does the team accepts it. In the Mentalist, the team all had their limits. So at some point Jane would end up having to go outside the box and the limits and that would be breaking the rules.

Yes, absolutely. I loved that one bit about the episode. That and how they managed to keep the suspense this time.

Very nice review Amreen. Can any one tell me that if they found the ballpoint pen a lapse? How can Raghav search for an autobio based on the fact that ther was a refill in the trash can? A refill cab used by any number of ppl for months.. I think it was the biggest clue & biggest lapse.

Yes, that was a weird clue indeed. It didn't make sense to me at all.

And maybe I waste too many pens, but iss zamaane mein kaun khareedta hai refill? I generally buy five rupee pens and chuck them into the dustbin once they're done😆
