Vani Kapoor, who made a striking debut with Shuddh Desi Romance, has not been seen in another film since. Barring a few red carpet appearances, the former model launched by Yash Raj Films as an actress has moved out of the spotlight.

Sources close to Yash Raj Films insist that the studio's head honcho Aditya Chopra has asked her to stay off the radar because he plans to cast her opposite Ranbir Kapoor in a film that he plans to direct after his wife Rani Mukerji delivers their first baby in January next year.
Till that happens, Miss Kapoor has been asked to lie low! Not a bad idea. We only hope that Chopra doesn't do a volte-face.
