Azaad is annoyed as heck with Mahira's "arrogance". She knows she's scared, yet she doesn't come out to follow me. Fine! Two can play at this game...! and he drives off if a huff.
Mahira escapes death by Khan Begum. She was rendered unconscious by Razia, but at the last moment KB was distracted by someone approaching.
It was Jhanjariya again, providing for an alibi to prevent KB. Because Razia and her have another scheme planned for Mahira. And Azaad was arriving.
But Azaad came back...! He watches her sleep, smile ruefully and thinks about how he couldn't bear to leave her alone.
She grabs his hand. The hesitation in his face, he tries to pull away, but she grabs it more firmly.At last he gives in and lets her hold on to his hand. He rests his head next to her and watches her sleep. For that moment, his troubles and grouches are forgotten.
He sleeps a calm sleep, wakes up at dawn to find his hand still safe in hers. He wakes and watches her sleep with an affectionate smile. He appreciates the calm and innocence (and prettiness, of course) that is Mahira. His hand shakes as he brushes her hair off her face.
But he talks himself out of it. Your life is dark and dangerous. You have no business being attracted to bright and happy things, you'd only darken them. Stay away from her Azaad!
He reclaims his hand and leaves.
When Mahira wakes, she is befuddled and confused, not remembering anything after being left alone. She thought she survived it alone. Opening the door, she finds Azaad. All freshened up and in bright blue and shades, looking like a million bucks.
For a moment there, she appreciated how good he looked ! LOL... Or she was just super happy that he was around after all...
He hands her some gum.
She was so taken aback she made an awkward joke. Which he didn't laugh to , of course.
