In a recent interview, Kangana Ranaut, while playing a little game of holding up a card of either Katti or Batti for people from the industry, she held up the Katti card for Deepika Padukone. Without blinking an eyelid. "I just want to be left alone," she said, upon being asked about why she held up the Katti card.
When asked about this action of hers today, Kangana, who is considered to be one of the fiercest rivals of Deepika, said, "It has to be seen in what context we are saying something. Whatever an actor says should be not be considered as gospel truth. Sometimes we also revisit our statement and feel I could have skipped this one...should have let go of it. I am 28-year-old...I may say something...Deepika, too may like to say something. But one should not pay too much attention to these things. It should be ignored."
There have been umpteen number of stories about Deepika and Kangana's rift since early this year. It started with an awards ceremony and Deepika's acknowledgment that the Best Actress award (which was awarded to her) should have been given to Kangana. Some called it a PR stunt, some called it a way for Deepika to reach out to Kangana, but it has opened up a Pandora's box of miscommunication. What followed were a series of rumours, cryptic comments and messages, and of course, a whole lot of fodder for the media
