Each Friday a movie releases, people start scrambling through websites to see what their favorite film critic has to say. Some make decisions to go to the theaters based on their feedback. These days anyone can be a film critic. But among so many options online, who is your favorite critic? Whose review do you wait for on Friday?

I have listed a few popular ones online. Excluded from the list, are two popular critics whose opinion is too business oriented. Feel free to give a shout out to them or others not listed, through Others option😛

Raja Sen, more often than not I find myself nodding in agreement whenever I read his reviews. He's fairly balanced, I believe and does reviews film in context with genre. He's also very humorous, some of his one-liners are killer!

No one particularly..but I do find reviews of Kusumita Das (Deccan chronicle) pretty balanced. I used to like Rangan a lot..but haven't been following him much lately. His other movie related articles are still a treat to read though.

I'm not at all fond of critics like Raja Sen, Mayank Sekhar and Deepanjana Pal. Don't understand or relate to half of the things they say.

However, I still keep a track of Masand's reviews though. I'm used to reading his reviews somehow. Agree or disagree is a different thing. 😆

Baradwaj Rangan (very few can manage to review a film with the kind of depth he does), Anupama Chopra, Sukanya Verma are quite fair and balanced critics.

Raja Sen and Aniruddha Guha are quite biased and are inconsistent with their reviews. They give favourable reviews to people they like and unfavourable to those they don't like.

Rajeev Masand is neither here nor there for me. I agree with quite a few of his reviews but I think he's quite generous with his ratings.

Lastly KRK. I have not seen too many reviews of his, but those I have, are quite good. He does not pretend to be an intellectual (which he is obviously not), but he gives a new perspective... a huge segment of the film going public actually assess a movie the way he does, and he is quite on-point.

I try to read reviews by Rangan, Anupama, KRK, and Masand too may be, before watching any film.
