Tere sheher mein, which airs on Star Plus was recently in news for its alleged couple swap track, which was done to improve it's TRP ratings. Now we hear that the production has taken emergency measures to recover the losses of TRP fall by cutting costs of the production. Let us have a look at the measures taken by the production team.
Apparently the production team has decided to axe all the unwanted characters from TSM. The first one on the list is Uma who due to her hobby of copying bollywood divas had overshot the costume budget. Instead of firing the costume designer, the production team just decided to axe Uma's character as it was not of much use in the drama. She will be shown as being washed away by river Ganga when she tries to pull off a stunt of standing on one leg to get Mantu's attention. Chiklu is the second one to go as his teacher Jazz is too busy not going to school and leaning on the wall of Mathur haveli to hear the conversation of her neighbours. As per the sources, chiklu goes to school one day and never returns.
Hari chachu is the next one to go though his character was not much of a burden for the production. All he did was wear white clothes and hold phone pretending to talk. But since dry cleaning prices have gone up, they have decided to let go of him. The main villain Dev also might me shown the doors as his office set up is heavy on production and those watching saas-bahu drama cannot connect with the set up. Gajanad chaubey has been replaced by a mannequin to save costs. No hospital scenes will be shown as currently the production cannot afford the cost of set up. Mantu's house set has been removed and replaced by a single bed since most of the time he is either on the streets or at Mathur haveli. Also, the Mathir girls will either wear saree or salwar as tge production cannot afford branded fashionista kind of clothes. The production is however not worried about Mantu's costumes as he looks hot as hell in whatever he wears. The production may also make other characters disappear such as neeti chaubey, her mom and dad based on the requirement.
When we tried to contact the production house about the authenticity of the news, the production manager responded by saying 'How can you ask such stupid questions? Dont you know how Rishi Mathur died? We just want to follow the core message of the serial which says that you should not live a luxurious life on loan and should save as much as possible for future.
However, our reliable sources say that all these cost cutting measures were employed by the TSM production and Star Plus so that they can afford the new star writer Sonali Jaffer. Sonali Jaffer is a famous writer from the Ekta brandwagon known for double, triple, fake and repeat marriages and couple swapping. We would like to remind you that it was Sonali Jaffer who introduced the famous Rama-Amaya marriage to gain TRPs. She has several other tracks in mind which requires very few characters to be present at a time (ex. Amaya and her four torturers). In fact, this is one of her unique ideas which goes by the tag line - Minimal actors Maximum Drama. This unique idea has garnered very good response among the television industry because of its efficient cost-cutting model. We hope TSM continues to experiment different new ideas in their show so that it sets a standard for other shows.
With this we sigh off. We will surely give you more updates on TSM as and when we get them.
Till then keep watching Tere Sheher Mein
