We know that Sushant Singh Rajput has been working hard on the Dhoni biopic. Recently, there was news doing the rounds that SSR also visited Dhoni's hometown Ranchi to meet the cricketer's close friends and family. However, it seems that these efforts may be wasted after all.
A little birdie informs us that this biopic is set to be shelved. It seems the producers of Dhoni biopic have actually backed off. Sushant Singh Rajput was being trained by cricketer Kiran More for approximately 12 sessions but post that, the training has stopped and so has the shoot.
The source mentions the reason for the producers backing off as, "One - it is a very expensive project and not viable. Two - they are not confident that Kiara Advani can sell this expensive project."
Earlier this month, director Tigmanshu Dhulia had commented about this movie saying, "I can't see any logic behind making a biopic on Mahendra Singh Dhoni as his story is still unfolding. I wonder why Dhoni gave his nod for the biopic because he is otherwise considered a very smart man." Well, could that be the reason as well?
